I am in Texas and I need to charge sales tax to in state customers. Before I changed the checkout button it would add it fine. Now that I have checked the "I"M NOT SPECIFYING SHIPPING" option, there is NO place to set the sales tax that I can find, so people in TX are not paying tax.

example:

ORDER 670880652

Needless to say, now I need to go back and check every order and see if they are in Texas, and go back and ask them to pay if they are... embarrasing...

Hello,

You may turn on sales tax in My Account > Post Sale Mgt. Options. There is a text box there where you can put in your instructions for those customers you wish to pay sales tax.

I hope this helps.

Sonya

You mean to tell me the system will not add it automatically?
Customers are expected to add their own sales tax?
I do have instructions there to add sales tax but you think customers will do it?
I've already discovered two that didn't.

This has to be done automatically... like EBAY DOES IT!

I have the same problem in Fl. Everyone is adding .0001% or something like that and paying a penny or two. I have been just paying it myself but I can't handle anymore expenses??

Hello,

We are evaluating changing the way tax is handled via checkout. For now, the option I explained above is available. I have forwarded your comments to Product Development.

Just wanted to add a note here. My customers are putting 60% to 80% tax in the checkout. I am then having to refund a portion of their payments.

I think that the checkout, insofar as customer selecting their own percentage of sales tax is confusing at best.

I have had to refund 2 customers in as many days.

You need to fix the sales tax problem. I too am having customers not pay. THEN, if I ask for the money and they pay, I get a second charge from paypal that eats up most of the money they pay for the sales tax. Your system is costing me money.
