I am just not understanding how to use the custom templates on my listings. I see them on so many listings and this was the main reason I chose Vendio-because I wanted my stuff to look pretty? Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong?

It's hard to know where you're going wrong unless we know what you're doing.

Have you already customized a template?

If you are just getting started, please refer to our tutorial, which is available at this URL:

This will give you an overview of how to use the new template system. If you have additional questions after reviewing the overview, please check our FAQ, available here:

This will answer most commonly asked questions. If your question is not covered in the Tutorial or FAQ, please write back. We are more than happy to help you get up and running with your new custom templates!

I also am new and confused about templates. It seems that there is no clear way of determining WHAT comes first.
Do I need a template prepared before I create an auction? If so where do I bring in the information for each auction? Do I make a template for each auction?
Is it best to make a Dummy template, and if so can I make 3 dummy templates and then choose which I want when I am creating each auction?
Once I have a template with all my info, at what point do I change -say just one word - for just one auction if I need to?

I have spent HOURS trying to make all this work.
The demos and all the instruction is great, just doesn't tell me WHEN. Can someone please assist here and describe it linearly? I have a Mac on an ibook with OSX
Thanks - LH

Just thought I would mention that I am in Trial mode. Maybe this makes a difference, although I thought it was a part of the 2 week period. Couldn't do anything in the workshop.

THANKS for asking this! I just set up a second Vendio account and it's been so long since I got my templates originally that I have NO idea how to use the template workshop. It is NOT user-friendly. Extremely frustrating--and I'm no dummy.

Hooray. I want to report that I finally figured out the template stuff. What I wasn't seeing while on the Template Workshop page was the little bitty window at the bottom of the template that said "save as" or "name" or such. As soon as I entered what I was calling that template (like "blue lace" or "bamboo" and hit to save it, I had it.

NOW, moderator: Please tell me, when I'm on my auction description page, there's a window with all my "saved templates" and included is the blank one plus three samples. I want to delete those in my preferences so I never see them. How do I do that?

Thanks!

Want to add, to those not getting how to use the templates yet: Go to those two sites Ramany suggests, and in the 50 FAQs I found the hints on how to make it all work. Especially the FAQs.

Hello,

To delete a custom template, go to My Account -> Template Preferences. Scroll down to the Saved Templates section. Highlight the template(s) you want to delete, and click the Delete button.

If you have any other questions about templates, please feel free to ask -- it may look a bit overwhelming at first, but once you fool around with it for a bit you will get the hang of it.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi, Sonya: I've followed your instructions and am unable to delete two in the list.

I want to delete Sample #2 and the "blank" one at the top. When I tried to delete the blank one first, I got a message - something about default setting. With the second one, Sample #2, I got no message but #2 was still there after I'd tried to delete it.

Hello,

Unfortunately it doesn't look like you can delete the default ones. You can change your default to bring up a new one -- this can be done in My Account > Template Preferences.

I apologize for any misinformation I might have given you, regarding what you can delete in Templates.

Regards,

Sonya
