Howdy, I've been useing your Windows XP Image upload tools for 4 month with No Problems, untill now. It's always taken 15 (or so) seconds for the internet connection to be made, and to START the upload. Now it will not make any connection. Your Program can't find you on the internet. (i let it run for 2 hours, last night, and it never connected) So far, i've written 5 emails to Vendio, and gotten back 2 form letters, that don't help me a bit. (but do show that you don't understand my problem) I have tried the sugestions in the e-mails. I have also eliminated ALL OTHER PHOTO PROGRAMS INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER. Is engineering working on this problem? Luv, and Kisses, Terry

Hi Terry,

Please try uninstalling your current version of the XPress publisher, then download another one and let me know if this works. If you continue to have errors upon connectino, please copy and paste what the error messages say, so we can troubleshoot this problem.

Also, plaese let us know if you are behind a firewall. We haven't had any other inquiries about the XPress Publisher not working, so it might be the copy that you have installed.

Regards,

Sonya

Hello,

After you uninstall it, please try to download another one from Image Hosting. Please let us know if the new download does the same thing as this old one.

Hi, Yes, it does the same thing each time. A little "chime" noise, and when i go to my computer to check the upload, it's there, but only 0.01 MB in size. It should be 290KB. I don't have any firewall, or spam fliters operating. The only thing i do have is Mc afee virus protection. I have also tried sevral system restore points, going back as far as a month. Nothing seems to make any difference. Should i thro this CPU in the Ocean? Thanks, Terry

Hi Terry,

One more question are you downloading on AOL browser, or through IE? Please try both, if it does the same thing let us know if you've installed anything new on your computer lately and what ISP you use (I would guess AOL however many customers have it downloaded on their computers, yet connect with something entirely different).

Sonya

Hi, Yes, i'm useing AOL. I don't know anything about IE. I did install an Oregon Scientific Digital Camera program about the time this all started.(odamn) But, i thought by doing a System Restore, to a point before that time, that i should eliminate it. It didn't seem to make any differance, and I'm now haveing suspisons, myself. I can't seem to get it to uninstall. I did check before i installed it, and acordind to Oregon, it's XP compatible. Of course this has all happened at the same time as your switch-over. What are your toughts?
Thanks for all your help, Terry

I'd try shutting down the anti-virus software for this installation. Turn that off and try downloading the Xpress Publisher to the desktop.
The download should be quick but needs to be 290kb.

Hi Again, I tried your suggestions, with the same results. The program won't reinstall past 0.01 MB. (i only uninstalled it at your request) According to Oregon Scientific (the digital camera program, i mentioned, before)it's XP compatible, and isn't the problem. So i'm back where i started 5 days, and 10 eMails ago. I have no firewall, and no virus protection. This program has always worked fine, untill your switch to the new Vendio Program. Can you think of anything else i can try? Thanks, Terry

Hi There, Up till now, Vendio thought i was the only one haveing trouble with this. Hopefully engineering will be able to help, when they get time. I can see, from my computer control panel, that it says it is a windows installer program, but i installed it thru Vendio. If you figure a way to get it to load, would you please post the procedure, so i can try too? Thanks, I'm Terry.

Hi Terry,

If you have Internet Explorer on your computer (or another web browser other than the AOL browser), please try downloading the XPress Publisher from that. If you get the same problem let me know so I can escalate the problem to engineering. Also please let us know if you installed the latest Windows service pack 2 onto your system.

Changinglives -- did you install service pack 2? Please let me know what browsers you used when you tried to download the XPress Publisher.

Hi Sonya, WoW! I got it to load thru Explorer. (I didn't even know i had Ie.) And i sent 1 photo. Now, what does this mean? Do i have to use explorer to list photos, or did i just need it to load the program? Thanks very much, Terry

Hi Terry,

That is great news! I suggested you use IE to download the problem because it seemed like the problems you were having getting a complete download were related to the AOL browser. If you had had trouble downloading it using IE, then we'd have a bigger problem on our hands, but you should be able to go back to using AOL as normal since you did get the program to download successfully.

Let me know if you have any more problems with this.

Sonya

I, too, can no longer use this program - I have removed it and downloaded it again and
when I try to upload using it I get a message saying that the wizard could not connect to the web page.
I am using Internet Explorer and never had any problems until today.
Best wishes

Hello,

Please let us know, when you go through the wizard what is the exact error you get when you pick an image and try to go through the wizard. Also let us know what page of the wizard you are on when this happens. Please also confirm that it always worked on your computer but just stopped working recently, or if it is a new download.

Regards,

Sonya

Sonya,
Here is what happens:
I select the picture and click on publish to the web. The Wizard appears and then the screen where I select Vendio as the site that I wish to upload to. Then it says to wait whilst the Wizard downloads information from the Service Provider and then I get a message:
The Wizard could not connect to the Internet or the Web Service returned a Wizard page that is not valid.
--------
When it ceased working earlier today I uninstalled the whole thing and downloaded the program again from your site. I now see that is has only installed 0.01 MB - no wonder it is not working!! LOL!!
Any ideas?
Pussyfoot

Hello,

The XPress Image Publisher size on disk is indeed only 0.01MB (or sometimes 0.02MB).

Terry: engineering has looked into your problems. The symptoms indicate a very slow image upload (as you also reported). It is indeed possible that the Oregon Scientific Digital Camera program has triggered a conflict between Windows system files, or perhaps AOL files.

Has anything else changed on your computer lately, such as firewall or proxy settings? Do you have problems with other programs (such as the regular browser)?

This is what we recommend:
1. Please go to the Windows Update site (click Tools > Windows Update in the Internet Explorer menu). Install the critical updates and Service Packs the site recommends, especially those for Windows and Internet Explorer.

2. If the program is still not working properly, please uninstall and install XPress Image Publisher again.

Thanks,

-Radu

Hello Terry,

Please:
- uninstall XPress Image Publisher
- download the kit again from:
http://www.vendio.com/my/client/publisher.html
- when asked, choose to save the kit to disk, to a location such as C:\ (the root folder of the drive)
- then run the installation using the saved kit.

Thanks,

-Radu
