I understood that if you have a plan and launch with Vendio - you don't get charged with image fees? Now my account is listed as pay as you go and I'm being charged for image storage??? What's up. You apparently didn't make this clear due to the questions bouncing around this board???

Yes could you explain it for me? I no longer have a plan so you are going to bill me for each image I have or the total space I am using? Can you tell me how to get a total for the space I'm using? How do I convert KB's into MB? Do I do this daily, weekly or monthly? Do I have to clean out the recycle bin or pay for items in there?

I'm not sure I want to put this much effort into paying you for a service that used to be part of my monthly billing??

Hello,

You are signed up for the 55MB plan which is $9.95 per month. If you delete your images and want to change your plan you must do this in My Account > My Service Plans. You must empty the Recycle Bin in order for the MB count to go down.

You can see your total MB storage in Image Hosting.

1000KBs equal 1MB. In Standard Image hosting, the max limit is 500KB. Ideally, images should be around 50kb. You can adjust these settings in your graphics program.

Sonya

So if I go back to the plan I was on ($12.95) I don't get charged for images? If that's the case - why did vendio change it?

Do I have to delete everything to sign up for the plan I had?
I don't understand this at all - can't you just tell me the quickest and less expensive way to get back to business as before?

Also I get my vendio statement on the 6th of the month but if I'm not mistaken - that covers the prior month so any changes I make should be done on the 30th or 31st?

Hello,

If you stay on the current plan you are on, you won't be charged extra for image hosting as the fee will be credited back to you at the end of your billing cycle. Your normal way of listing should not change.

If you really want to switch your plan, its best to do it the day before your billing cycle (this includes any deleting images and emptying of your recycle bin).

Sonya

OK - I have decided that I want to stick with Vendio if I understand the new rules.
I live in Florida and September was a very stressful month for all of us here as we were either getting ready for or cleaning up after a hurricane all month long. So I guess that's why I didn't catch all this at the time,
If I want to go back to my old plan which was $12.95 plus 10 cents a listing up to xx amount and then it only a nickle per listing plus 1% FVF - period. I may or may not keep the gallery.
If my images do not go over 55MB, I won't be charged anything else. If they do, I'll be charged the next higher image fee but still stay on the $12.95 plan??
I think I understand now that this is all based on peak usage so as long as I stay under 55MB all the time I'm OK?
If I switch back on the 31st will I get hit with a big bill again?
Please correct anything necessary to make my statement correct.
Thanks

Hi ladyjewels2000,

As a Floridian, you've had more than your share of stress lately so I hope I can help alleviate some of it by clarifying our pricing.

First, the new Image Hosting pricing provides for free image hosting except the difference now is that it is no longer unlimited. We can no longer provide unlimited storage for free since we introduced the option to store images permanently - that would have strained our systems and affected performance for everyone. (Note that the auto-delete feature is unchanged. You only need to manually delete your images if you are trying to reduce your image storage.)

Second, the new pricing separates Image Hosting prices from Sales Manager pricing. Even if you switched to Pay As You Go, Image Hosting is now a separate plan that can be managed/discontinued from the My Service Plans page.

Though they are separate plans, Sales Manager and Image Hosting fees are tied together because Image Hosting now acts as a monthly minimum. Image Hosting is free as long as your Sales Manager fees are the same or higher. This way we could tie the amount of free image storage to Sales Manager usage so that only users who store more than usual will need to pay more.

To make it easier for users to see this, we added more information on your statements. See the screenshot of the Online Statements page. Here, you'll see Monthly Minimum which is based on your Image Hosting plan. Below that is the credits you accumulate as a result of Sales Manager subscription fees, listing fees and final value fees. When the credit equals the minimum, you'll know that you'll pay nothing extra for that month.

Now, as for why your first bill appears larger, it's just because Image Hosting is prepaid. See this explanation of sample billing line items (your actual bill is slightly different because your billing date is different):

9/30 Image Hosting Plan: 55 MB (pro-rated) $5.00
- This marks the start of new Image Hosting fees. Image Hosting becomes a separate plan with it's own pricing. Like other Vendio payments, Image Hosting is prepaid so that's why this charge appears immediately.

10/15 Image Hosting Credit $5.00
- Credits appear on the last day of your bill so that we can properly account for all credits for the month. This example shows a full refund since the credit is the same as the 9/30 charge, meaning that Image Hosting was free.

10/15 Image Hosting Plan: 55 MB $9.95
- Again, Image Hosting is a prepaid fee so this charge is for the next period 10/16-11/16. The credit that will apply toward this amount will appear at the end of the next statement. As long as your Sales Manager fees are above your minimum, the credit will fully refund the 10/15 Image Hosting Plan fee and Image Hosting will continue to be free.

Now, as for switching back to a $12.95 plan, this will guarantee you'll receive free image hosting because $12.95 > $9.95 (your current Image Hosting plan that serves as your monthly minimum). As long as you do not exceed the 55 MB limit for that plan, you'll be fine.

I hope that helps and clears things up.

Regards,

Chuck
