I have not had any auctions since June and have no images at Vendio. I will probably be starting auctions again in the new year. I don't really understand how you can change my plan and charge me image hosting fees without sending me an email first. Besides I do not have any images on Vendio. If I had known about this, I would have cancelled the plan. When I'm not doing auctions, I do not check in with Vendio to see what is going on so would appreciate some help.

I apologize for the confusion. As announced on our website, we recently shifted to storage-based image hosting (this was necessary for our business.) Image hosting is now a subscription based service, whereas previously it was available only under the Sales Manager plans or on a pay-as-you-go basis.
The charges on your account are for image hosting storage. As you have received a bill, you must have had images stored on our servers that were being actively used or viewed within the past 45 to 90 days.

If someone had sent an email with what was going on, I would have cancelled the images plan until I got back to auctions. It just doesn't seem right to me. Since I appear to be out of the loop, could you expain to me how this works once I start doing auctions again.

The following are excerpts from other pricing communications that might be relevant to you:
We continue to offer free image hosting for Sales Manager users. Even when we do charge for Image Hosting, its pricing is exceptionally low compared to our competitors. See our pricing comparison.
We went above our required obligation as specified in our User Agreement to notify users of this pricing change. We notified users 2 weeks in advance instead of the required 1 week in advance.
Free image hosting is still available to any Sales Manager plan, except the difference now is that it is no longer unlimited. We could no longer provide unlimited free storage since we introduced the option to store images permanently - that would have strained our systems and affected performance for everyone. (Note that the auto-delete feature is unchanged. You only need to manually delete your images if you are trying to reduce your image storage.)
Now Image Hosting is free as long as your Sales Manager fees are the same or higher than your Image Hosting fees. In other words, Image Hosting is now a monthly minimum. This way we could tie the amount of free image storage to Sales Manager usage so that only users who store more than usual will need to pay more.
To make it easier for users to see this, we added more information on your statements. See the screenshot of the Online Statements page. Here, you'll see Monthly Minimum which is based on your Image Hosting plan. Below that is the credits you accumulate as a result of Sales Manager subscription fees, listing fees and final value fees. When the credit equals the minimum, you'll know that you'll pay nothing extra for that month.
Here's what you can expect on your first bill under the new plan. See this explanation of the sample billing line items assuming a billing day of the 15th of every month and 55 MB plan:
9/30 Image Hosting Plan: 55 MB (pro-rated) $5.00
- This marks the start of new Image Hosting fees. Image Hosting becomes a separate plan with it's own pricing. Like other Vendio payments, Image Hosting is prepaid so that's why this charge appears immediately.
10/15 Image Hosting Credit $5.00
- Credits appear at the end of of your bill so that we can properly account for all credits for the month. This example shows a full refund since the credit is the same as the 9/30 charge, meaning that Image Hosting was free.
10/15 Image Hosting Plan: 55 MB $9.95
- Again, Image Hosting is a prepaid fee so this charge is for the next period 10/16-11/16. The credit that will apply toward this amount will appear at the end of the next statement. As long as your Sales Manager fees are above your minimum, Image Hosting will continue to be free.
We have tens of thousands of users so it's understandable that some still miss our communications. I hope you can see we've gone out of our way to communicate the changes and be fair. And I hope you can see that Vendio continues to be a great deal for the features we offer.
