Hello
I offer two types of shipping, USPS and UPS Ground. But I do not let my customers select one or the other, I do. USPS for lighter items, UPS for heavier.
I find people paying insurance for UPS items at USPS insurance rates, since that is what I have selected, it seems to be the only option in the SHIPPING menu. You have to choose one or the other.
Is there a way to pre-set one insurance amount if the item is shipped USPS and a different one for UPS?

Hi there,
Ok, I hope I can explain this right. First off, you are right about having one insurance option. However, there is a work around.
We've recently implented 8 custom shipping fields. What I suggest is, make a custom fields for with and without insurance.
When you list the heavier items, make 2 custom fields. One for UPS with insurance and one for UPS w/ out insurance. And only select those two options for being available at checkout.
For lighter items, you can do that same or you can simply stick with offering insurance at the usps rate.
Does that make sense?
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you!
