wa2000 - I came up with my own way of making announcements inside all of my listings (at least all of them after I started using this method) I insert an image selection in my custom listing text and whenever I want to change it I can by deleting that image (from recycle bin too) and replacing it with a new one with the same name.
For example, I used this image box (users just see text) at first:
I decided to replace it with a holiday message this season and did so by deleting the first iamge (I have since renamed it and reuploaded so I can use it again by renaming if I want to)and uploading this one with the same name:
It works well and IT'S FREE!

I use IRFAN view (a FREE download photo editor) - but any photo editor will work I think. You can create a text image there and then upload as a .jpg image. Then you add the "image" url in your Vendio "custom listing" text and it will appear in all auctions created afterwards.
1)In IRFAN (under "Image" tab) you "Create Empty Image" and specify the size you want.
2)Then you take your cursor and "draw" a box around the image size you want.
3)Then you go to the "EDIT" tab and select "insert text into image". You will get a text box and you can type in your message and chosse font, color etc. and save as jpg image.

Inside "My eBay" you can get to a page where all your listings are there, in one place to be reivised. That's good, but they all have to be revised individually, not in bulk, and manually. That's a lot of mouse-clicking! The Vendio Bulk reviser does it automatically. It all depends on your needs, but if you have more than one of a product and using the Vendio Bulk reviser to change the auction length, placing your auction on the first page more often, it should be worth the price if your item sells more frequently.

If you have an eBay store, you can subscribe to Selling Manager for free. It brings up a different My eBay view that lets you bulk edit store items. You can also use it to bulk edit ended auction items to relist. To bulk edit live auction items, you can subscribe to eBays File Exchange, also free. I don't know why Vendio charges so much for this feature.

Thanks, pixiamom. I found my eBay store to be not worthwhile and I closed last year it when they raised the rates.
Hey, WA2000, you're pretty rude. Who has time for you? Don't start something you can't back up and then go way off topic. Why don't you call eBay to "fint" the rule that says you can't put written messages in a picture file!

threadsofgold - I am the person with the message in an image file. I didn't know ebay has a policy against it. Can you tell me WHERE I might find the reg on this? I just thought this was the easiest way to make announcements without revising 6000 items.

SO Sorry, neglus - I got so lost in this post. I wish I could find that for you but I read it in a an eBay discussion group a couple of years ago. If I recall correctly, sellers were doing it to circumvent eBay's keyword spaming and linking policies at that time. I find more things in the discussion groups on eBay than I can find in the rules. I just found out I couldn't say that I was donating 10% of my auction sales to the ASPCA from a discussion group.
Actually, I don't see why eBay would object to what you are doing but when they have a policy they can get sticky with it. To them, a picture with text is a picture with text regardless of what it says. Then again, their policies are always changing. If I ever do find that one, I'll let you know.
Rather than the text image, is there a way you can use and HTML table and do that mass revison thing, changing the table to fit your needs? I tried an iframe once but they won't let you use javascript either.
