i have had 2 auctions close, where at checkout it said that the buyer paid with paypal. yet i get no confirmation from paypal about the transaction, nor is there any record of payment recieved in paypal. in the payment recieved section of post sale, it should not state that a payment was made using paypal, until paypal actually get the payment

Hello,

What are the item numbers for these two transactions? We'll take a look to verify the PayPal showing as being posted has recorded the transaction number properly (dont only when marked as paid automatically.)

Christopher

Hello,

Item number 6236628136 doesn't show as being paid here in your post sale or closed sections in Vendio.

It does show that the buyer completed the checkout process and that you have printed the packing slip, but step 3 still shows as incomplete.

Christopher

I am experiencing similar problems, one with a Vendio store transaction.

The Vendio store customer kept getting an error from Paypal that her telephone number was incorrect. I finally noticed that her customer record in Vendio shows her telephone number as xxx-xxx-xxxx-xxx-xxxx. In other words, her area code is followed by two instances of her telephone number.

I sent her a money request directly from ebay and hope this does the trick. She is on Guam, so the time difference is a problem for customer support calls. The order number is 837335128.

She created two other unwanted orders trying to solve the problem.

In the other case, an ebay customer keeps thinking she has paid, but no payment is posting. This happened immediately after the BIN purchase on 12/27 (she thought she paid twice and was alarmed), and then again today. I don't think she went anywhere near the Vendio checkout, so the source of this problem may be confined to Paypal.

Hello mswsr1,

That is correct, the buyer did indicate that PayPal was the method of payment they selected during the checkout process.

At that time they were given a link to submit the payment via PayPal which they have yet to complete, which is why step 3 (item paid) is not marked off as completed, as well as why you still see this item listed in your 'awaiting payment' section.

When someone does pay via PayPal, step 3 will show as being completed, the item will be removed from the awaiting payment section and if you check the fullfilment checklist, it will show a paypal transaction ID number beside it.

Christopher

Hi. Most ecommerce checkout systems including ebay's have the feature that the customer cannot indicate an offsite payment without that indication triggering the link that takes them there to pay. On ebay, when the customer chooses among the choices with the paypal default selected and makes the choice they are automatically taken to the paypal login screen to pay. Most commercial websites that use paypal are similarly set up. Vendio is one of the few places where a customer can click to make payment selection information and not be taken there to pay--paypal to the login screen, credit card to the credit card info submission page. It is much clearer now that a second selection must be made after indicating payment than it was in the old Vendio checkout setup, but couldn't that coding change be upgraded so it is not a potential problem at all?

These are basic bread and butter commerce functions that impact customer usability, customer confidence, and seller confidence in the checkout software. This problem, and others like it, is one of the reasons I no longer feel I can use the Vendio checkout--but I would prefer to use it if I could trust it. Thanks.

Hello,

"have the feature that the customer cannot indicate an offsite payment without that indication triggering the link that takes them there to pay"

That's what ours does now.

If you choose to pay with PayPal, you are redirected to the PayPal website with all of the costs/etc prefilled into the form, where all you have to do is log in and submit the funds.

Thank you for your feedback on this issue.

Christopher

I'm not sure I am seeing what the problem is here. Looks like the system's working fine to me. As stated by Christopher the item is not showing as paid in the vendio system, only that the customer has gone through the checkout process. But they have not paid for it yet. What they did do was sellect PayPal as their payment method and are probably going to pay you in a couple of day's. This happens to me quite often. Blocks one and two are highlited indicating WBN is sent and Checkout complete and if I check the item they have selected PayPal but just not paid yet. Usually in a couple of day's they pay. Maybee they just don't have the funds at the moment, beat's me. If they have not paid within a 7 day timeframe then I send a payment reminder and that usually get's them to complete the transaction. I think sometimes that they think the payment was made through paypal, maybee there new users and do not realize that they actually have to be redirected to PayPal's site to make their payment.
Just another white mouse in the ebay maze looking for some cheese. --- Mike
