I only sell new items. Is there a place to set the global settings so that I do not have to select "new" each time that I create a listing?

Hello,

Your referring to the 'apply profile' option when you click to create a new listing correct?

If so it will simply default to 'new' listing allways, you won't need to actually "select" it as thats what will be there when you go to list from scratch.

I think they are refering to item condition which can be set to New or Used. Correct me if I'm wrong mstwostepin. I don't think there is a way to set the item condition to new in SMME, it is a pain in the back side and would be a nice upgrade.

They say your memory's the second thing to go, I just can't remember what the first thing is.

Hello,

If your talking about the 'condition' - this would be an item specifics setting.

If you were to setup a profile in inventory for listing to this specific category, you could setup the profile to automatically default the condition to new.

Unfortunately if the category is different each time you list an item with this item specific option, you would essentially need a profile for each category to apply when you list the items (in that case its probably easier to just select 'new' each time.)

In order to save your item as an inventory profile, check the "Save this item in my inventory" option as you are creating your listing.

Once the listing is created and saved, go to Inventory (you will find the link in the left navigation bar in Sales Manager.) Locate your item, and click on the item title. Then, select "Profile Item" at the top of the page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Save" button. You will now see that your profile item will be highlighted in yellow on your inventory page.

After this is completed, you will see that the inventory profile has been added to the drop-down list on the Choose Category page under Apply Profile.

Mike, you are correct..I am talking about item condition.

Christopher, thank you for your response also. What you are saying is that I would have to set a new profile for each of my listing templates? If I use the ones that are already set up, I would have to select "new" each time?

Hello,

If you already have profiles that your using, you could use those instead and not have to select the 'new' option each time.

Note however that it would only work if you didnt change the category that the profile is setup to point to already.

If you change the category after you apply the profile, then the item specifics would be cleared.

Regards,
Christopher
