I just recently started selling on ebay after a couple of years absence. I have always used Vendio for photos, etc. but never used the post-auction service until recently. I thought everything was going quite smoothly and it seemed to be quite efficient until I received the following complaint from a buyer:
"I prefer to use the eBay paypal systen to check out. I do not want to give out all the information that you want. It is NOT faster or easier. And I don't think you need all the information on me. Does eBay know and approve of you supposadely faster and easier system?"
Was wondering if anyone else has had a complaint or if this is an isolated case? Also, is there something I can change so a buyer can go directly through ebay PayPal to pay rather than through Vendio?

You're always going to get the people that can't stand to do it a different way. The info they're giving is nothing new to us. We get all the info when they send the paypal payment. You'd think they were giving out their social security number or something! I sell hundreds of items a month and about 60-70% go through my Vendio check-out. About 1 or 2 a month vocalize how much they hate it. I don't really worry about them much. You can turn off the Vendio check-out if you want. I believe you find it in the post-sale management tools.

Thanks for your comments...the small percentage of complaints received compared to the number of people who use Vendio check-out seems to be a case of "you can't please some people no-way no-how"...will continue to use Vendio check-out..it seems to be quite efficient and effective with the emails, etc.

Yes, I get about one or two of these whiners a month too. The funny thing is that many of them spend the time to type a TWO PARAGRAPH long e-mail to me, explaining that they DON'T HAVE TIME to fill out the address form in checkout, that it's ruined their lives, etc, when it would have only taken them about 10 seconds if they'd just gone ahead and typed in their 9 WORD LONG shipping address! Sometimes I hate people...But then I remember that most of my buyers are great, and I also get about 1 or 2 e-mails a month from people praising the checkout system, telling me how much they like it, and how easy it was (the people who don't like the checkout are much more likely to send an e-mail than the people who do like the checkout, so I figure that 99% of my buyers are happy with it).
For this reason, I still have not enabled eBay's checkout as an option for my buyers--I completely rely on Vendio's checkout (since it's easier for me), and if a buyer refuses to checkout, I send them a PayPal money request.
Here's one of my "form" e-mail responses I send to crazies who claim I am trying to rob them of all their personal info (feel free to borrow from it):

Hey Bellacollection...thanks..you said it all..and I will borrow from your email the next time. I agree that 99% of buyers are great..this was the first complaint I had. I guess some people feel the need to complain about ANYTHING. I also have had some great feedback by using the checkout system and emails so will continue to use it.

As a buyer and seller on eBay, it would seem that 99% of the sellers don't make me fill out the form on Vendio check-out. It IS a hassle and more prone to typo errors than the traditional eBay check-out, just my humble observation.

OK - another observation..if I decide to give a buyer the option of using it or not using it, what do I change. If buyer does not use Vendio checkout is it still possible to send post-auction emails through Vendio?
