The old mouse died so I bought a new one. It was working fine for a couple of days. It's a three button mouse, dont even ask me what the second button if for....I haven't a clue.

So anyway, I'm clicking along on my merry way and of a sudden I have this pop up that says open or do whatever...... and all I'm trying to do is click on a link and open it, in other words my right button is now working as my left button or visa versa.

I went into mouse control and it tells me nothing.

Anyone ever had this problem?

I suppose I could get used to this but I'm not liking it, nope, not liking it at all.

I click on anything on my desktop and it gives me a drop down menu.

I'll call your Meeeeeeowwwwwww! and raise you a Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

You could maybe try going into Control Panel>>Mouse and see if the setting for left-handed/right-handed is correct...

Can you open the mouse's file folder? There must be a system file that will give you the option to reconfigure it. Alternately, you can reinstall the mouse software and then it will prompt you whether or not you want it to be left or right-handed.

Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have the same thing happen to me about once a month with my Logitech mouse. Restarting windows should clear the problem.

Use the right mouse button as you would normally use the left mouse button, or failing that, just shut the damn computer off.

Gah, happens all the time. Just massivly press your right mouse button and it SHOULD work back to normal (with your left mouse button at least). If all else fails, reboot the DAMNED windows machine.
