All I did was unplug my scanner, move it four feet,(got a new desk)plugged it back in, and now it will not work. I reinstalled the software, didn't work. I have an icon on my toolbar, but it has a red mark through the scanner. The error I get is that it cannot detect the twain driver. If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
L.

If you are running Windows 95 or 98, try this:

1) Start menu>Settings>Control Panel
2) Select System
3) Select Device Manager

Now look to see if your scanner is listed and if there is a conflict. A conflict would have a yellow icon with an exclamation point on it. If it does, come back in here and let us know and we go to the next step.

If not, then look for the button there that says: Refresh. That will cause your system to go look for all devices.

It's a start.

P.s. you may want to post Brand name and Model number of you scanner here as well. You'll get better results.

more info please....is your scanner parallel port (plugs through the printer port) or USB? What brand/model scanner?

Have you tried rebooting the computer with the scanner on?

What software are you using? Photosuite-Select Work on your own. Select File from the dropbox. Select get photos from and it will say camera or scanner select scanner. Also make sure that the little black wire is pluged in.It goes next to the large scanner plug in the back of your scanner. Try that.....Good Luck

Here is another suggestion. Go to my computer and search the help section. Type in scanners and cameras and they will tell you what to do. If you get connected come in and tell us. By the way you don't have to be connected to the internet to do this. Good Luck

My typical error after moving something is plugging it into the wrong slot - maybe that is yours too?

Did you re-install the DRIVER? And did you select TWAIN? You may want to un-install the driver and re-install it...
