Hi- Got a neg today. This is number 4 out of about 900 (4 neutral). Is this a decent track record, or should I start over? Three negs were unfair, this one is vaild..I did mess up. The neutrals were for the USPS putting dents in the shipping boxes (items were always fine.) I just feel so bad!

I have 1 NEG out of 115 and I wouldn't even consider starting over. (Percentage wise, mine is a lot worse than yours) Put it behind you and keep on going. You are doing a great job!

I agree with mrpotatohead - your record sounds like a good one, and I don't think you should start over.
Why not put a nice, sincerely apologetic response underneath the most recent neg? It will help future buyers who look at your feedback to know that you're trustworthy and hold yourself accountable for mistakes.

I am a "frequent buyer" and I always check out FB on the sellers. I would not hesitate to bid on your auction with that high of FB provided you don't respond to your NEG in a non-professional manner. If you were as open with your respose as you were here, I would know I was dealing with a professional who probably would at least try to work out a solution if a problem were to crop up. I don't think I would change ID's.

Sooner or later a neg is to be expected. You can't please everyone all the time. Every business has issues with a customer or two sooner or later. Just that a neg stands out more on ebay for all the world to see.

OTOH, Kyms...from what you said, I don't think you deserve a neg if you just "messed up." IMO, a neg is deserved when a seller does wrong and doesn't correct the problem satisfactorily. I've "messed up" but did everything I could to fix the problem...even going so far as to "throw myself on the mercy of the court"...and from the tone of your post, it sounds like you're that kind of seller too. So...keep the id with your stellar record!
