I tried listing as I have been doing and out of the blue I get this message. Now what, or where do I go to fix something I didn't know was broken. Sheesh ebay and AW are buggy these past 2 days....

IT Said:

A processing error occured while previewing your listing on eBay.

Login Failure. Your login id and password for the auction site could not be found in the aliases list.

Please go to the 'My Settings' page to verify or update your site login information.

A processing error could be anything. It basically means the programmer who can't write in English that the computer program has an error it can't recover from other than to tell you "I am too dumb to know what to do next"

The login failure means the program can't start because it can't find its posterior with both hands. A file is missing or inaccessible and it doesn't know where to look for it.

Just wisdom from someone who had to write some of this sort of thing.

mballai> well that is way cool, now what do I do about it? Is there any place I can go to fix it or just re-boot and hope it fixes its self? Itis so frustrating to go through the entire listing thingie and then at the end of it get this goofy message. gonna try to re-boot...

deee4, I just tried to re-list a few things and I got the same message. Don't think a re-boot will help you but if it does, let me know.

I just called eBay & it's not my account -- that's fine: so it must be an AW problem!

Several people have written about this over on the AW Manager board. It has been happening all afternoon to me. I don't seem to be able to retain the info I have put in and have to start all over again. The back button won't take me back after I get that message. I guess you just lose all that time and work.

I think AW got some bad taco sauce somewhere and is burping... well what I have been doing is copying the text of my descriptions to a email and saving it in drafts, so all I have to do when this goofyness stops is bring up the draft and copy and paste it into the description area and that sure saves alot of time. and you're right...re-booting didn't do any good so far...gonna try again...

WELL, so far, AW just blew $1.00 of my moola out the window! I don't know if I can go through with this %$&$ anymore!

Does anyone know if I can get a credit for this FIASCO? Who do I write to! This is the most BIZARRE thing I've ever seen on AW!

I'm getting the same message. Is everyone just waiting and trying again later?

And if the auction isn't listing, how are you losing money?

ANSWER: it launched 2 old dead auctions that I had to immediately cancel -- that's how I lost -- unless eBay will credit?

I got the same errors. Out of 30+ auctions I just listed, about 5 of them got this error.

If they list the auctions on you and you didn't want them to, just cancel the auction:

http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?EndingMyAuction

and then request credit at [email protected] for those auctions and ebay will credit you.

I'm sure it was just a glitch in AW's system. I don't know of an online site that DOESN'T have glitches. If you know of any please inform me!

I had planned to list 20 items tonight, and due to the same glitch you guys are talking about, I got to list a big 5!!! I am new to this site, and the problems I had today, and all that time wasted make me wonder if this is a common occurrance. I sure hope not, because I love the way my auctions look when I post them from AW, and to get the same look through Honesty would require me to learn a LOT more HTML than I already know, and I just don't have the time to spare for that right now. Just learning how this site works was enough. I'll give it a few days to see what happens.

shellsputer:

I have used AuctionWatch for several months and very rarely is there a problem with listing. I have also used several other free listing sites and this is by far the best.

Thank you for the reassurance, valerie47! I LOVE this site! I wish I had found it months ago!! And these boards are quite infomative and useful, thanks to people such as yourself. Hehe, maybe if I hadn't spent so much time here, reading the postings, I WOULD'VE gotten more listed!! Oh well! I had fun, anyway.
