I think on your feedback profile, ebay should also show how many auctions you've ended early.
Last week I saw an auction my mother had seen on ebay and wanted them for Christmas. They were a set of 4 widgets. I emailed the guy asking how much shipping was and how they would be shipped. He said shipping would be "around $5 by Parcel Post". I thought that seemed very low because these were pretty heavy widgets, but decided to bid anyways because my mother really wanted these. The seller had also stated they were originally each 5x the price of his opening bid. He had a very low opening price and no reserve.
So I placed a proxy bid yesterday. It was supposed to end later today. This morning I went to the auction, and it was ended with NO BIDS. I clicked on the "bid history" and the seller said "decided not to sell". (Mine was the only bid).
Now, I'm very annoyed by this. I think because he wasn't getting what he had expected for these, he cancelled the auction. Why didn't he just put a reserve if he wanted more? Why didn't he at least have the courtesy to EMAIL me and let me know what was going on?
I wonder if he does this often to items that don't sell for as much as he wanted?
I would love to be able to see THAT on his feedback/history page.
