I think I should have stayed in bed today.

I had Ebud up and running and was getting ready to send a Billpoint invoice,my system crashed and when I rebooted.

Every single email in my in box got deleted all 17000 of them.I used it as a database and its gone.

Odd thing is that the out box and items I have saved in specific files are still there but the rest are gone.

Mc Cafee detects nothing.

Oh well an interesting way to clear out the clutter I guess but not recommended.

I still cannot access AW in the message center on my comp and I cannot even access AW period right know.

Has anyone had this happen to them or are there new viruses out there. My McCafee update is about a week old so I think its current.

Nice day here though in Florida.

I have a friend who had the same thing happen just 2 days ago. She said it made it past McCafee & Nortons. Her entire email was gone when she booted up in the AM.

I had the same thing happen!! What's up with that? I'd better go run McAfee and see. Geez, and I thought I did something stupid.

I used it as a database and its gone.

Some softwares invite being used as a database, but they're traps.

Hi Adrian. Did you check your *.dbx* files to see if the emails are still there?

And when you back it up adrian, back it up off site so even if the house burns down you have it. I have a lot of stuff at xdrive.

I store all my auction goodies on an Access database. I now zip it up regularly. A friend of mine recommends using CD-RW because it is portable.

Adrian,

If it's VERY important, there are people who specialize in restoring things most of us can't get back w/the usual software solutions. They are expensive, but they are pretty good. Have you considered taking it to a local computer shop & seeing what they say?

You can use ontrack, I had them recover material off hard drives that were recovered from a building that burned down- if you saw the hard drives you would have said "no way" - lost virtually nothing.
