Not intending to start a war here, but it might help you get some answers, hmngbrd, if you were to write in standard English, without using abbreviations. At the moment, I have no idea whether you have a problem, are asking for advice, or simply want to let off steam.

sorry - guess you guys can't read past missing vowels...just saying that ins. thing doesn't work if seller offers refund....but i wonder if it happens often and
was adding that buyer out shipping in deal.....
suspect seller has pulled same thing before....just venting i guess...one thing's for sure...seller out more than me as i buy a lot of jewelry for resale and will never buy from that person again.....thank you for the english lesson.

hmngbrd,

We like short posts but not quite THAT short.

In all honesty, I had trouble understanding your post, therefore, like SilkMoth, wasn't sure how to respond.

And if you post here long enough, you'll see that most everybody gets picked upon a bit. It's the way we keep our sanity while trying to deal w/ebay.

I bought a lot from a seller 41 pieces. When I received it I was not a happy camper. Two items had severe discrediting damage not mentioned in the auction.
& other items had damage that I could not be sure was permanent (black marks on knife blades.) I asked to return the nine items. Seller says sure no problem. Based on my cost I asked for an 8.68 refund times 9 items.

Seller says fine return them. I get back in the mail a few days later a box with 8 items and a check for 8.68 minus shipping of 4.00. Now I am really ticked. The seller clearly knows nothing about what she is selling or she would have seen the damage.

Turns out she is a front for an auction company (employee) & sells for them, advertising her auctions *as is*. My issue is this, there was damage not mentioned in the items due to seller ignorance. I try to be fair & equitable and return the problem items.

In the box is a business card from the auctioneer asking to contact him. I write him a lengthy letter. I am not going to call him on my nickel I have already seen their attitude with the ridiculous refund. ( I return an item damaged that they overlooked and I have to pay for that?)

Im any case I email the auction house owner, and the seller. Next things I know I am getting a series of rambling, sexually harassing (from him), emails in the middle of the night. Scary ones. I am thinking substance abuse by a really marginal presonality. Basically this nice seller tells me to go beep myself with a beeping beep beep. You get the drift.

I file a fraud complaint regarding the items. This not only precipitates a slew of email harassment but the seller offers a refund with this caveat: that since I am a sleaxy dealer in this type of merchandise don't try and substitute items for hers (as if). That was the straw that broke the camels back. I had polished about 1/2 the lot. This seller had no way of proving what she shipped and she knew it. She & her partner engaged in not so subtle intimidation to get me to keep the items.

There is no moral to this story but I have been dealing with this since July. There is no justice. I sent emails to safeharbor regarding the sexual harrassment and intimidation. I sent abuse claims to aol. with headers. No one does anything and nobody cares.

Feedback is a whole 'nother kettle of smelly fish.

Later on that soap opera.
