I had nearly forgotton about my old trusty CCNOW account. With thier 10% fees I abandoned them when paypal came along. I am now moving back to them because I know they wont freeze my account, ask for my SSN, or tap into my bank account to take funds without my permission. They are wonderful people with excellent customer service as well as a reliable site archtecture and shopping cart system.

I agree. 9% is still much cheaper than paying to sell at a "Real" shop. They have excellent (and almost instant) customer service. Plus if there is ever a chargeback, they will refund their commission and pay the bank charges, something BillPoint won't do. I also like the upsell feature.
Mind you, it takes 30 days to get paid.

Of course, the upsell violates eBay TOS, but who cares...NOT I!!!
I used them for a year before Paypal came out and loved thier service and found the 9% to be well worth it for what they provide.
Considering my profit margins usualy range from 200-500%, the 9% is not a big deal for the headaches I avoid with it. Now if there was only a way to get buyers to stop demanding paypal!

Who cares if they ASK for your SSN. You don't have to Give it. I didn't.
I've dealt with PayPal as my only Online payment option for over a year now, w/ dozens of weekly transactions with NOT ONE PROBLEM, EVER.

What I make is not the IRS's business. I know where I am making a profit and where I am sellnig stuff at less than cost. Paypal wants the SSN to report to IRS I suspect.

Why bother with them when you can use Propay and run cards yourself. I used CCNOW back in the dark ages also, won't happen again. You are willing to let a payment service get 9% of your gross, plus shipping?

Read the fine print with Propay---there is really no difference between them and Paypal.
The SSN request is only if you sign up for the account that gives you interest.

Yeah....but Paypal is slowly making it so everyone has to earn interest. HMM!!!

They are making you sign up for the interest bearing accounts??? Since when??
And they can't make the international accounts--as the international accounts don't have bank accounts registered with them--only CC

As I understand it, that's changing for Canadians next month. Canadians will be able to register a bank account in order to withdraw funds from PayPal.
