My son bought this and was told that it is pink wedgewood. He wants me to list it on ebay, but I want to be sure it is wedgewood first. Any help would really be appreciated. I know the mark looks right, but this is one of the most copied marks there is.

rarriffle: See thread from "Mizscarlett" halfway down the list, 2:58 p.m. Someone has told her how to get the picture on.

It doesn't appear to be Wedgwood. Give me a few minutes to see what I can dig up.

Are there any other marks besides the crossed arrows? It appears to be either German or French in origin.

Jasperware plaque, definitely not Wedgwood. Pretty!

reddeer, the crossed arrows are the only mark. If you look at the front top, the side pieces, are not symmetrical. While a pretty piece, it just does not say wedgewood to me. It has 2 small holes in the top back for hanging I think. I am not sure how to list this, or even if I want to.

Rarriffle: If it is European it is more than likely French. Any more info on the type of material? Pottery or porcelain? The type of glaze? The glaze looks thick in the images. Any crazing? From the images below the pieces look to me to be fairly recent copies (last 50 years). The mark is not a lot of help. This mark is reproduced a lot. Sorry I can't be of any real help.
Reddeer: Hi there. Are you thinking Meissen? I don't think Meissen pieces were glazed on the foot and back. These pieces look to be glazed all over.
I hope you don't mind. I couldn't see the piece very well.

Hello Smw .... No, not Meissen, but as you've already stated, those crossed arrows were used by a number of European factories. By the pics and/or my monitor, I can't say for sure where it came from? I have to agree with you, it does appear to be a piece made in the last 50 yrs.

Almost forgot.....If the piece is in good condition I would list it.
It is a nice decorative piece. Not quite my taste, but the Italian Provincial, flocked wallpaper, red tasseled lamp shade set like this sort of stuff.

YOu people are wonderful, as usual. It is porcelain and is glazed all over. SMW, how did you do the smaller picture? Thats what I try for. I did look at some pictures of Jasperware on ebay. I do think this is a want to be, not the real thing. It is still a very pretty little plaque though. Measures 6 1/2" by 5"

Kovels book shows the crossed arrows mark as Kalk Porcelain Factory
Eisenburg Thuringia Germany (E.Germany) Porcelain
1904+ (1863 to present)
(Special Porcelain Eisenberg VEB)
I think if you do a title & description search on ebay for "Jasperware crossed swords" you will see the mark on similar pieces.

Rariffle...If you need a little help learning to resize your pictures, I have a very, VERY basic Tutorial, which shows how to do it. Your photo source can be actual pictures, which you then scan; or from a floppy disk; it also teach how to "Export" pics from a Kodak Floppy to a Regular empty floppy...and how to resize, name, enhance and all that...I wrote it when someone asked me how to do pictures for Ebay, starting with OPENING BOX WHICH HOLDS SCANNER... So, we are talking basic....
http://www.mindspring.com/~yasou2u/tutorials.html
BTW: anything slightly smaller than a scanner surface can be scanned...no need for taking photos...

rarriffle: I have a number of imaging programs but I always go back to Microsoft Photo Editor that came with MS Office.
I "lifted" your image, opened it in PE, "de-noised" it, changed the properties from 96 pixels to 300, and resized it by 70%.
Sounds complicated but it took about a minute.
Here is the other image, and one of the mark, if you want to use them. I copied the mark as a new image before I resized it.
