I want to ship an outboard motor across country. It can't go UPS. Can anyone give me suggestions as to what to pack it in and what type of carrier will take this. It weighs about 150 pounds. Thanks.

If you and the buyer are near amtrak, they have a freight service.

Maybe, try asking a shipping co. see what they tell you.
I shipped a 9' Grandfaterh Clock, with very heavey carving and the works were inside also. I belive it was shipped by truck, I don't remember exactly but check with a shipper near you.

Don't know if they still offer it, but Greyhound used to be very reasonable for shipping large items.
