So, how did you all do with FLD? To all those naysayers, I say bugaboo. I sold about 75% of my lots, made enough to pay next month's rent and couldn't be happier. A lot of things sold for way much than I thought they were worth. (I think there was some post-Christmas insanity to blame here.) Indeed, prices have always seemed higher after Christmas than at any other time of the year.

I couldn't be happier. I thought it would be dead around Chrismas and I was wrong. So what's one more time?

I had 24 relists on FLD. Most had already been listed twice, a couple three times.

I sold just more than half. 8 using BIN.

All bonus $.

Thanks eBay.

I Havent didn't get to 75% still a few running out there I did a lot of 10 day auctions.

I did do way better then a normal week and had a fair amount of multiple bids on auctions.

InFact if the bidding and Inventory keep going I may double listings again free listing or not.

I have a problem with BIN every listing I ADD BIN to veiws on these listing are low I sold one someone snippedit under the Bin price was glad to get the bid but I cant say the sale was a result of buy it now price.

We sold almost everything. Didn't get the prices I thought we should get on some of them but I'm not going to complain.

Excellent!

90%+ sell through, saved me $20 or more in fees, sold a $600 radio and a $100+ video tape set I thought would never sell, what did I have to lose?

Fab-U-Lous! I have sold items I have been trying to sell for the past year. I think the fact that the holidays are falling over the weekend have something to do with it. I did not have as good of results in past years when Christmas falls during the week. I think the three day weekends are helping A LOT!

I can't believe the BIN selling. The free listing day was the first I have tried it and I have been very impressed. I didn't feel it would work with my merchandise, but I was wrong.

Auctions are closing out in about an hour and almost everything sold at very high bidding. I'm very happy.

It turned out great! This was the best free listing day yet!

I listed a few hundred items under 2 different ID's - most were relists that didn't sell all year long. I made almost $2,000 in bids in this one day alone - under only 1 of my ID's! Also had SEVERAL "buy now's" during the week under both ID's.

I'm very, very happy!

Well I listed about 400 auctions, approx 1/3 closed with a sale. Although that is a lower than my average sucess rate I listed many duplicate's and many slow items that I would not normally waste the listing fee on.

Net sales were approx 50% over a normal week.
I also have many free relists in the bank. I save them a resuse them later frequently as a different item.

Reasons:
1)Bad weather.(Keeps people home & bidding)
2)Ebay ad's
3)Wasn't publicized well so not as many participants (competitors)

Very satisfied. Stuff that closed without bids didn't surprise me since I basically listed everything I had around the place. It's been hectic but a great way to clear out for the new year.

Incredible. Put up paperback books that haven't been selling on ebay since halfcom came along. Sold almost all of them, most with 3 or 4 bids. Sold one paperback horror novel for $40.00 and one for $33.00. I almost passed out. The rest are going off in the next hour or so and they all have bids.

Not Dragonfyree on Ebay.

Awesome!

Listed about 225 items that didn't sell the first and some the 2nd time around. Sold about 15 with BIN and of the remaining about 50% sold tonight. A few items sold for triple, and even quadruple (and 2 items 10x !) my starting price... the price they didn't sell at before!

Since I already had every auction written and every picture taken, the hour or so it took me to get these listed was well worth it.

Awesome! About 70% sell-thru--and 99.9% of the sales were items that had sat barking for months, they were such dogs. Did 12 BINs (didn't have the patience to revise any more) and sold 8 at BIN--six within the first two days. Better yet, the activity encouraged me to try listing some items after the free day, and I had not planned to do so--those items are doing so well I'm stunned. I wouldn't have tried listing those if the FLD stuff hadn't done so well.

310 auctions
83 sold

26.7% sell through ratio

That is a AWFUL sell through ratio, and does NOT justify ebay charging listing fees. End of auction fees are fine but until another free listing day or some drastic price cuts in ebay fees, the majority of my stuff is staying on Yahoo.

WOHHHHOOOO...I sold 75% of the auctions I listed! And to think I wasn't going to list anything after the 15th!

I'm one happy camper!

I was too busy to sell much so I just listed a few items that had not sold before and I already had pics to serve and descriptions I could paste in.
About half sod and some for better than expected prices.
A good result for the limits imposed.

I'm glad y'all did so well; I wish I'd KNOWN about it! I'm still pouting about that, but it's my own fault, I suppose, for being too busy around Christmas time to check the AW boards. I still wish eBay had sent out a notification email about it but you can't have everything.

I just don't get where these buyers have time or money to be eBay shopping right after Christmas!? Ack!! I'm still very very broke AND very very busy, trying to get stuff done before school starts back up in a few days.. other than hitting the after-Christmas sales at the grocery store for 75% off wrapping paper and tree ornaments, shopping is the LAST thing on my mind. I never will understand the American consumer, I guess. Guess I'd best learn to fake it!

Sheri - two of my Free Listing Day buyers were from Arkansas and wrote to me about emailing while the power was still up.

Either they couldn't get to the mall in that weather, or they weren't going to let a storm of the millennium stop them from shopping ebay!

works for me!

I was happy was able to clear out a lot for a pretty good ending bids. Able to make room now for more inventory after one more bid push.

Happy NEW YEAR all

We did our usual 60% sellthru rate but we listed many more items than usual. Saved $1,000.00+ on listing fees and sold $15,000.00 worth of product.

A hearty thank you to EBAY.

So - WHEN was "Free Listing Day" - I have been selling on Ebay for a year and go on every day! How did I miss it? Where do they post such an event?

FLD was December 20; eBay has a FLD every year about 5 days before Christmas, I think largely to keep the traffic up over the holidays.

It was announced on the Announcements board as well as in numerous posts here.

I had to work that day, so didn't have a lot of time to do listing, but did manage to get a few auctions listed (7). Of those, two sold. Those two happened to be from my own collection and I was moving them out to make room for stuff I like better. I started the bidding at slightly less than what I'd paid for them, hoping that they'd springboard to slightly more than I'd paid... but that didn't work out. But what the hay -- I think I can deduct the loss from my ebay income for the year -- and I'm glad to have them out of my hair! I took advantage of the free listing to try listing in two categories on several of my auctions... and found that it definitely increases the number of looks at the auction.

It was almost on target. 45 auctions. 25 succesfull; 20 failed. BIN auctions showed an increase in profits and sales, and allowed me to relist ditto items faster and make more sales; regular bidding was poor and I lost money on those items.

Considering I'm selling "dogs," or items that couldn't sell for months, I'm very pleased. It may be good for me to do all BINS in the future except on "HOT sellers."

This is the first time ever I had more high FB users compared to new users. That may be the reason for my poor bids. I don't know if I scared away the newbies with a couple changes or if less newbies are signing up. Guessing there's less newbies out there.
