Could someone explain the difference between FireKing turquoise and FireKing azurite? It looks the same to me. Thanks for your help.

I think the azurite is a very pale bluish white but I could be wrong.

The colors look the same in the 2 categories on Ebay. But maybe one is lighter than the other but it doesn't show up in photos. Thanks for your help.

(not iwannabuy on ebay)

I just checked some of the listings and I see what you mean. Depending on the quality of the photos they can both look very much alike.

I found my FireKing book and the turquoise looks quite blue for some of the pieces and more turquoise for others. The azurite does look very pale bluish white or whitish blue, more of a delicate color.

Edited to say that there is also a plain blue color and a fired on blue.

The turquoise is more opaque and more....turquoise. Azure-ite is a soft, pale translucent blue glass with a look and feel similar to the classic Anchor White Fire King. If you're trying to figure out in which category to list whatever you've got, your best bet is to get your hands on one of Gene Florence's books (e.g. Anchor Hocking's Fire King and More), as the piece will tell you which it is. If you can post a pic, I'm sure one of us can tell you which it is.

I'll try to post the picture. I've had this listed under azurite but now I'm thinking that was the wrong category.

I hope that works.

Hi again, I think what you have is the Turquoise Blue 1956-1958. Is it marked "ovenware"?

Yes it is marked oven ware. I also had a V-shaped mixing bowl which sold but I believe I had it in the wrong category too. I think the people who bid on this stuff know what it is (or isn't) even if I don't. At least I hope that's the case. I have the Schiffer book on Jadite but it doesn't cover the blue stuff. Thanks for your help.
