Has anyone signed up with MyUPS.com??
I was wondering if you have to be an actual business or will they pick-up at your house. Also what are the supplies they offer?(any boxes?).

I had a UPS account a couple years ago. They picked up right at my house 5 days a week.

What do they offer? Let's see:

1)Lost packages
2)Packages actually ran over by trucks
3)Excuses for not paying claims, regardless of how well you pack
4)When you call their 1-800# it's impossible to get the same person twice - their 800# is an answering service
5)Unhappy customers who NEG you for problems UPS caused
6)Non-stop headaches

There's more, but I'll stop for now. Oh, they don't offer boxes but they give you 1/2 page labels. Yippy. I now only ship by the USPS Priority and in the past 2 years not one package has been damaged or lost.

In contrast to the others, I have been using UPS daily service for over a year. I have not had any of the problems as above, but have had very good service with UPS. It sure beats those daily trips to the Post Office and the standing in line ect. UPS will provide you with service in most areas, but it is not free. There is a min. weekly charge and a charge for printer rental if you do not have one. They do not provide you with supplies unless your using an air service, than those supplies are very limited.
As far as claims go I have had far better claim service with UPS than with USPS- one phone call and the refund or claim is on the way. It will cost you a little more if your shipping packages under 2-3#'s, but will be less for the most part in higher weights. I figure it save me about an hour a day when shipping vs going to the PO. MY advice is to call them up and try them out for a month if you don't like them quit and use the PO.

We also have an UPS Account, and our 2 year experience has been, on the whole, good. We have a standard business UPS’s account. We ship a ton of stuff UPS, and have a daily pick up at our shop. Over all we have had little damage, and good claim service. We ship such things as cut crystal lamps; 1800 stain glass windows, etc. Proper packing is required for payment of a claim, but we had our local UPS people out to check our packing so there would be no problems if breakage occurred.

All in all we like UPS just fine - and it is convenient, and in MANY INSTANCES much less costly for our customer than the USPS, particularly when you include the cost of insurance. – AND it is convenient for us.

All our labels, etc., are printed out on our computer, and for us UPS has supplied all printing label paper, etc., free.

I am sure with the new increase in the USPS fees, we will be using UPS more and more.

RegardingMyUPS.com, I am not familiar with that - we use a business account.

Wishes to you and yours for a Blessed 2001. Our New Years Greeting to YOU at this URL:

I have to say UPS is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. Twice I had accounts with them and I will never go back. I once had a package go from NY to Alabama that took 22 days and when my customer received it, the package was delivered to her in PIECES. It was some HULL bowls and neither of us could believe the UPS driver even delivered them to her door. The box literally had tire marks on it!!

With the prices of USPS going up, just being curious, I checked out prices from NY to CA for a 2lb package. The USPS is MUCH cheaper than UPS - even after the price hike. Just another reason to stick with the good ol' post office!

I have switched to UPS since the postal service did a horrific job of delivering my holiday packages. I sent a 2lb package from PA to AZ and it cost $4.40 UPS.

To send a 2lb priority it will now cost $5.45 with insurance and DC. To me it is a ripoff since their business ethics wont get better.

I dont know about this UPS stuff I just went to there sight and checked on a rate for a 2 lbs package shipped from my address to my address it gave me as the lowest rate $3.12 for this it would take 4 days to ship seems to me the smart company would hand me back the package and charge nothing.

ExecutiveGirl: Exactly! The same kind of thing happened to me. I got a package via UPS, and the item was snapped cleanly in two. The box had clearly been broken into two pieces as well, and had been reclosed with duct tape. It took a lot of gall for them to deliver that to me (drop 'n run, naturally), as if I wouldn't notice or something.

BTW, it took FOUR attempts before they got one of the items to me unbroken. UPS has no idea at all about proper customer service.
