Anyone know if a book sent via book rate can be insured?

I am 80% sure that one can put insurance on bookrate.

EDITED TO ADD: Yes you can here is the link: http://new.usps.com/cgi-bin/uspsbv/scripts/content.jsp?D=9743&B=Mail_or_Ship&A=B&U=X&U1=B&U2=H

Yes, you can insure them. I do it all the time.

A phenomenon that bemuses me: I offer both book rate and Priority on my shipments, and include a comment that some buyers find book-rate to take a long time, so they might consider getting the insurance. More often than not, the buyer will get insurance on the PRIORITY rate instead. I've never had a Priority shipment drop off the face of the earth like some book-rate packages have [temporarily].
