I have a package that I sent with tracking number. It was shipped over 12 days ago. When I checked the USPS web site it says package was sent but not arrived at destination.

Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to find out where this package is?

Obviously having a receipt and the tracking number slip proves I shipped it but I want more info on it. Can I file a claim against USPS even if it wasn't insured?

I've shipped hundreds of packages and I am pretty happy with Priority Mail, nothing like this happened before...

You might try calling the 800# tomorrow and see if they can track it. The mail is running very slow. It took me 9 days to get a priority package. Ordnarily it takes 2 - 4 days. Guess it's because of the Christmas rush and the bad weather.

Also, I forgot to ask if you have been in contact with the person and they said package hadn't arrived. If the PO at the destination address forgets to scan it, it won't show up as arriving, even if it has been delivered.

You can't make a ins claim if it is lost--you are paying for immediate information only. If you had insured it--the insurance tracking number cannot be implemented for 30 days after shipping the package.

Don't panic yet--Christmas slows things down

A package I sent out via USPS Priority has not arrived in two weeks. I figure since they are in a winter storm area in the East Coast, it may take longer. I heard that USPS is allowed 30 days to delivery Priority packages.

I'm just hoping that it gets there.

At the end of November I had one missing for over 2 weeks. When I called the 800 number and when I called my local PO, they said to give it more time. After 30 days they will attempt to find it. That's all. It did finally show up, 2 days shy of 30.

I emailed the confirmation number to my buyer and he was very patient. I had offered to refund or send identical item if it did not show up.

Where was it headed? Some parts of the Southeast (AR, OK, TX) have been iced in for a long time and the USPS is no better ant anyone else on iced roads.

If it was aimed at or had to pass through any hard-hit area, it's going to be delayed.

And no, if you don't insure, you can't claim damages .

Hang in there...and think positive. I had an irreplaceable item (shipped priority mail), lost for close to a month this past December, before it was found at the destination PO...sitting there unscanned.
The buyer went crazy and so did I ---- all for nothing. Hope it turns up for you!!!!

It will most likely turn up...I recently had to go to the Post Office to check on an undelivered package: they told me there is nothing they can do for 20 to 30 days...

Meanwhile, the package arrived (at last!) the next day. Chin up..
Gosh Shosh!

I send out about 130-150 packages per month and send them out all Priority mail. The majority of the delivery confirmation numbers are scaned. The post office has a scan rate of 95%. Just because the post office does not scan the d/c does not mean that your package was not delivered.

I email one person that I thought did not get their package yet. The sent me an email back saying that they already recieved the package. The post office just did not scan the d/c.

Just email the bidder if you have any doubts to whether they recieved the package.

Thank you
Trey H.
