Well, I tried this last year and it didn't work out, but that was because of individual circumstances, and I still think the idea has merit.
I would like to work with sellers who are located outside No. America. I would purchase items here and ship them to you in bulk. I would also receive items in bulk.
Willing to do this on a for fee arrangement or with a share of profits.
I believe there are a lot of locally available items that can not be sold effectively to international customers because of the shipping costs or buyers (mostly USA ) unwilling to deal with foreign based sellers.
I live in a metro area (Washington,DC) and have plenty of inventory available, so this is more my wanting to do something interesting rather than needing product.
It could be that something common and inexpensive in your area or mine would bring a premium if sold elsewhere by a seller local to that area.
While I could and do purchase imported goods from wholesalers, the product is often available in very large quantities and I'm just one of dozens of sellers(think Ginzu knives).
Yes there are a lot of potential problems and we should start small to see if it is pratical and build some trust.
Africans purchase used shoes, in lots of a thousand, for 2 or 3 cents per pair at a local Salvation Army auctions I attend. They ship them home and make good profit.
If something as mundane as used shoes can be profitable, there must be something a little more creative that we can do as well with.
I would be particularly interested in working with someone from Ireland. My families roots are there, I would be comfortable with the general category and there is a large Irish American market. I would expect to sell both through auction listings and on a web site linked from my listings.( I promise I will visit every Irish bar within 299 miles of Washington and make our product line known. Minus only a few where the ban was for life.)
I'll be placing this post on some other sites known to me but would appreciate suggestions for where it might reach other interested parties.
