I have just aquired some pokemon cards and would like to list them on ebay. But I know nothing about them. I could have some worth $$$, or worth nothing. I just don't know what I am looking for. Some say Edition 1 and some have a 2 with a pokeball. Some a have an "R" on them. Some are holographic. Some are Topps Chromes. Plus I have a couple of Mewtwo cards that are identical except that 1 seems to be a regular card and the other (with the same pic & writing) is a foil (I think thats what it's called, it's shiny and metallic). Sound like I have anything worth anything?

I also aquired a board book that is entirely in japanese. Worth anything? What would be a good starting price on this?

I have scans if that would help....

Thanks guys and gals!

It's been awhile...but I think R stands for Rare.
The foils are the cream of the crop...MEWTWO foil if it is original could be your best buy.
I have some 'First Edition Fossil packs'..unopened...they were purchased as an investment...unfortunately the market completely went out of them before I could sell them. Now I can't even get my cost for them.

I would NOT buy any cards now...and TOPPS never sold as well as the other cards did.

Hope you didn't pay to much for them?

I also bought beanie babies...bottom fell out of that...practically gave them away.

Sorry...they just aren't worth anything..that is why there is so much Pokemon items out there that the stores can't give away.

Hi - My sons are pokemon experts so I asked them. The 'R' stands for rocket and the '2' w/ a pokeball stands for American 'Base 2'.

If you can post some pictures, he could probably give you the exact dollar amount any of them are worth. He knows this stuff.

Go to a card shop..they have books, like Beckett for sports..that will tell you the prices..the books usually have pictures.

Or even the folks who work there can help.

We have a local shop here called Wonder Water. The owners know a lot ++ there are always a lot of kids there who know more.

I deal with Pokemon cards on Ebay, and would be happy to provide you some info.

R is for Team Rocket, which is one of the sets of cards available, and the 2 with a Pokeball is Base Set 2. Cards are either 1st edition or Unlimited printing - 1st edition are generally worth more.

For Wizards cards, in the bottom right hand corner of the card is a symbol which tells you the rarity - Star is Rare, Diamond is Uncommon, Circle is Common.

Holographics are more rare than regular rares and worth more. Promotional cards are worth about what a non-foil rare is worth, with a few noteable exceptions.

An excellent source of price guide information is the Pojo website: www.pojo.com. If you can provide a more detailed list or pictures, I can tell you what I'd be asking for them if I was listing them.

IMLDS2 - 90% of my sales on Ebay are the TOPPS cards - I have had incredible success with them. Some of them have gone for remarkably high prices - I sold several of the holographic First Appearance cards from the Pokemon the Movie 2000 series for $50 each.

Oh...well I see I was way off on most of what I said...aaarggh. Well it's been over a year...

Well...I guess they are still selling..perhaps I'll dig them out of wherever I stored them...might be able to get my money out of it now.??

So...what do you think 1st Edition fossils still in their packs are worth? (I have 10 of these).

Thanks
Carole

I don't know how to post pics on this thread. Is it even possible?

barbarake & katiyana (and anyone else able to help) please email me at [email protected]

I will send scans of them. Thanks for your help. I just didn't even know where to begin with them. I figured the trash was probably where they'd end up. But I thought, hey, you never know.

One of the cards that I have is a holographic mewtwo from pokemon 2000. hmmmmmmmmmmm

Unfortunately, Wizards of the Coast, who is ownned by Hasbro, went thru a little pain...

http://mtgnews.com/story/647/1/1/1/

And, price wise, sell now, and buy a copy of Inquest Gamer or Scrye to price your cards.

:\\\"Crystalline Sliver cannot be the target of spells or abilities.
