Has anyone tried the computer maximizing software that many people are selling on Ebay? My computer is starting to run slower than I would like and I do not have the cash right now to get it upgraded. Trying to find the cheap way out.
If you have tried it and if it works, or if anyone has any other ideas...PLEASE POST!!!

Most likely the best thing you can do to get your system running better is some basic maintanance. Clear out your Internet temp files, history files etc. on a steady basis, perhaps weekly.
Run Scandisk and Defrag once per month or so. Delete unused programs, delete .tmp files and .chk files left behind by crashes and scandisk.
Loading programs to speed up your system, or ram boosters etc. would not be a good idea, in my opinion. We've been running a PII 400 system on Win95se for going on three years without a reformat. We are almost fanatical about what type of programs we load on it, and we don't let the kids use it anymore. Their system has been reformatted 3 times in the past 4 months due to shareware and downloaded stuff that has messed it up.
