I know it's long, but please read...

I had some person who won my auction leave negative feedback for me. He (or she) says in his feedback that he sent the money for the item. This is a total LIE. I have received no such payment from this person. I have sent two emails to him since the auction ended with no response (see below). The auction ended at 6:20pm PST on Thursday the 25th. He left the negative feedback on Sunday the 28th. Even if he mailed the payment right after the auction closed, there is no way I could have RECEIVED it by Sun 28th, let alone SHIP the product and have him receive it!!! Pretty funny (not really). This is a BLATENT, vindictive, and SLANDEROUS remark by someone who had the SOLE INTENTION to do so.

This is the exact NEG comment, "never sent item horrible ebay seller!!!!Dont trust this ugly man! I SENT MONEY!"

This person has been an eBay member since Jan 22, 2001, shorter than the length of my auction. I take my feedback VERY serious, as do most sellers and should not have this TROLL be able to tarnish it. I have been an eBay member since November 13, 1998.

After further investigation, I found that this person has left the same feedback for a few others, around the same time. He also signed up using a free webmail service that eBay probably didn't recognize.

Any suggestions?

Maybe you should address this in a reply on the feedback, ie: Left Neg om third day after auction" or something like that. That STINKS!
That's Miss Tex to you!

I saw your first post with the auction#. This guy has done this to every seller whose auction he has won just like he did to you. Check it out. He has left about a dozen negatives and he's been on Ebay about 1 week.

Hi. I sent you an email, but You need to leave him a neg ASAP, at least this will help warn other sellers, and give them a chance to cancel his bid. Then let Ebay know what game he's playing, and file for your FVF. He'll keep doing this as long as he can get away with it. He's left almost everybody the same message. he has No creativity. I just got a neg recently, and I know how irritating the feeling is. Be sure and put your comment below it, so people will know he's a total liar.

Shaady,
Please send all the information you have to [email protected]
Give all of the facts and auction numbers.

I've seen this kind of thing before, and eBay has removed the negative feedbacks. It is very likely that the user has "false" contact information and that is one of the points that eBay will use as a reason to remove negative feedback.

It's worth the effort to contact safeharbor about. Even though it sometimes seems like eBay won't get involved in removing feedback, this case is probably one in which they won't hesitate if you present all the facts.

And.. the user will be Naru..(and probably will return under a new ID

Hi:

I just checked out all the feedbacks this person left to other sellers as well as for you. He leaves the same insulting feedbacks to everyone. I think you should contact eBay SafeHarbor ASAP and tell them to check this person's feedbacks. Hopefully they will remove the negative feedback from your and the other seller's profile and they will NARU him/her. This person clearly has a mental problem and someone must stop him/her.

Good luck!

Anna

Thanks for the replies and emails.

After further investigation (which I had not done before posting the first time), I almost feel lucky now since he has done the same thing to all the seller he bid on. This should make it an open and shut case.

I took it personally at first

How can I find out who this "bidder" is so that if he bids on anything of mine I can cancel his bid???

OK, here's my response to his NEG..."Left NEG 3 days after auction closed & did the same to other sellers = SLANDER"

And here is the negative feedback I left for him..."DNP. Left NEG FB for me 3 days after auction?!? Cancel any bid by this person."

Not too harsh I hope

Well, the guy was foiled a little bit in his efforts. He had 2 pending bids up yet. One with only 4 hours left earlier. I sent fast notes off to the sellers, and saved them your grief, shaady. The both canceld his bid on their items. They also reported him to safeharbor. Perhaps something will happen fast with all the reports.

Thanks carolann56.

I actually did the same thing (notified the other active sellers and contacted SafeHarbor).

sharkbaby - I don't know if I can give you his username, but his feedback rating is currently -1 and should be dropping. You can't miss him now if you check feedback on your bidders.

EDIT: spelling

<<< UPDATE >>>

The offending troll has been NARUed and the negative feedback was removed. Nice little surprise on a Thursday night.

I've got to give SafeHarbor some credit for this one. Only a few days from start to finish.

That is great! Congrats! However, not to sound negative here but often these types of folks sign right back up and do this all over again
