Which is the best FREE software or site for sniping ebay?

I love the vrane site, www.vrane.com

They have a lot of tools, including a snipe program. I have not lost with it yet!!

But half the rush of a snipe is sitting there with your finger on the trigger... um, I mean key.

Got to agree with RainyBear, software takes all the rush out of it.

How does vrane's snipe work?

There is a DVD tonight that I want, I've been watching it for several days and there aren't a lot of them out...so I was planning on sniping it. Should I just do this one the old fashion way or is it guarantee'd to work with vrane?

(I really have no clue, I am just curious!)

Guarentee?
There are no guarentees in life let alone Ebay.
I use Vrane all the time and never had them fail but as with free services and many pay services there is no guarentee.

Well thanks for that lesson in life

I realize there are no guarantee's. Perhaps I meant that has anyone used it and not succesfully been able to snipe the item they are intending.

Okay well I guess I'll find out

I just put in to snipe two auctions tonight. If I dont get them guess I'll have to wait till they show up again [ edited by libbyparsons on Feb 2, 2001 03:07 PM ]

I love to snipe - without software. Narrowest margin I have ever had is 2 seconds, and I won by 2 cents.

Software is fine, I guess; but, it is only as good as the bid you enter. If your bid isn't enough, you won't win the item with software. I snipe using WebTV, so I don't exactly have the quickest machine, but if I really want an item - I usually get it!

esnipe lets you down about 1 out of 10 times. Of course, that might be the thing you want the most! If it's something really important to me I do it the old-fashioned way. My closest was 00:00. Can't take the credit, tho. Ebay hic-cupped.

Don't forget about esnipe.com!

You can put a copy of their free sniping software on your tool bar (directions at the website), then when you're looking at the auction page, activate the snipe software right from the toolbar. It's great. Never had it fail.

The only reason it wouldn't work is if your bid is lower than another bidder's proxy.

Some folks snipe for the thrill of it, but I don't have time to sit at the helm. The software is great when you don't want to bid up the price on something, but want to be the winner!

We'll see how it works for me later, in about 4 hours.

I've got 2 scheduled Hopefully I'll get at least one of them (the one I want more!)

I like Bidnsiper but it's not a free program. I guess you get what you pay for.
Set it up with the advance time to snipe and leave it alone, it does the rest. I set up my snipes a day or two in advance and leave town, bidnsiper does the rest. You can even have it dial your ISP and log on, do the snipe and log off. (I use a DSL line so never have to mess with that)

WHOOO HOOOO I LOOOOVE to snipe!!! I use vrane all the time, and there was only ONE time I didn't win - and that was because there was a little box at vrane I should've checked off and didn't - I forget the exact words, but it's about your password being able to go through to Ebay. Make SURE you check it! I have not lost an auction since, and it's sooooo cool how it does it literally in the last few seconds! Yeah sometimes I do it myself cos it's a cool rush... but I can't trust my slow computer sometimes... and vrane works every time. Happy Sniping!!!
