Yes, I know, the topic has been run into the ground. I just saw my first bright yellow 'Buy Books Here!: Barnes And Noble.Com' banner ads tonight over at EBay. I wasn't even looking for books, I was shopping for U2 concert tickets.

Thank GOD I don't sell books. It's bad enough dealing with those BMG Compact Disc club banners ads when I search for CDs. What are the folks at eBay THINKING when they put up links to off-site websites? Can it possibly be worth it in the long run? Shoot, Half.Com depends on book buyers: why send them to BarnesAndNoble.com?

Shaking my head in frustration and confusion...

They make a bigger cut of profits on B&N than they do on listing fees or half.com combined.

Ebay will get upwards of 15% of the full retail price of books sold on B & N

half.com takes 15% off dirt cheap used books.

Basically big brother Ebay is saying to book sellers....thanks for your donation of listing fees.......good luck sucker!
