The day they do NOT allow sniping is the day I leave ebay. (I it would be my guess that I will be one of many).

I've got another one going in less than 5 minutes
I used to snipe the old fashioned way 3 browsers, reloading constantly, everything entered on one browser, prayers that the browser would load fast enough...
This is great I can enjoy seeing that it closed with my bid

If you sell in the computer parts area, sniping is a way of life. I would have to say that for well over 50 percent of the sales, at least 25% of the final price happens in the last 30 minutes. I have a pretty high level of confidence in my ability to beat a snipe program with my manual techniques (yeah, the three browsers, one w/ the bid ready to go, and then I wind up adding a fourth with a higher bid in case the auction goes there and I decide I really am willing to pay more than I should), but I'm thinking of trying one. There are some items that come up pretty regular and I think it'd be nice to set up the snipe, go out for the evening (or go to bed if its late), check if I won and if not, just set it up for the next one. Eventually I'll get it for what I want or I'll raise my limit, whatever, but I think I've just talked myself into trying one.
Is Vrane supposed to be one of the best? What are some of the others?

sniping is a thrill but remember that if you bid the maximum you are willing to pay for the item you cannot lose. Certainly you want to do this at the end of the auction but I don't think there is anything wrong with sniping. In fact I feel it is a good way to protect yourself from those other snipers that get caught up in it. I once bought a wireless PC card for more than I could have paid for a warrantied new one online. I use esnipe but it does not always connect and I do not know what would happen if tow people bid on the same item thru them.
Prepare for the worst but hope for the best!! Spuddy98

Personally I like bidsniper the best. I've had pretty good sucess sniping at 4 seconds before closing. I have a DSL line and time sync with the E bay time so I'm sure my snipe will work.
Nice to enter a half dozen items and leave to go see a movie and have the results when you get home.
