I won an auction early on Thursday. Now I admit I should not have bid, but I thought it was ending next Thursday. DUH! Well, as soon as I got the notice that I had won, I immediately emailed the seller, asking them to contact me a.s.a.p. because I am scheduled for surgery next Monday, have to be in the hospital before that for pretesting, and do not expect to be back until late in the week. Right now, no contact. If I do not hear by noon tomorrow I can not do a thing about this auction until next Thursday or Friday IF I AM LUCKY. 65 year old women don't always recover as fast as younger people do.. 220 positives and this will be my first negative. Suggestions?

Just resend your original email to the seller, again tonight.
Should be very effective enough, unless you want to add some kind words

Hi Grumteach,

I think if you explain to them what is going on, I believe most sellers would understand. At least I would. Good luck to you, and your surgery too!

If its worthwhile to you, you can pull their contact info and give them a call to explain your situation. I'm sure most sellers would be more than understanding!

Thank you for all the suggestions. I did resend the message, and will do so again tomorrow, adding that I will recontact when I return from the hospital. Maybe I am just being paranoid, you know. It is just as a seller I have heard the hospital excuse so very often and wound up almost every time with a non-paying bidder. (And I am one of those guys who waits until the very last second to file a NPB just in case the story is true, and sends periodic reminders while asking how things are going.)I will give my daughter the contact information, just in case and she could call for me. I am sure a personal contact will assure the seller I am serious. Thanks for that suggestion, I would never have thought of it!

Thank you for the kind wishes too. I know I will be fine, it is just going to take a while.

Early Saturday morning update. This morning my seller contacted me. Her computer had been down because her son crashed it. Everything is fine. Thank you for your help. I should have realized that a seller is not going to leave a real buyer in limbo. The thought of my first negative feedback must have blinded me to good logic. Thank you for your help.
