Whenever I post a new template I always email safeharbor and ask them to look over my auction before I use that permanantly. Anyway, I did that and I had an Auctiva Showcase on my auctions. I was told by eBay that I can't use that on future auctions and that members caught using any type of image gallery like Auctiva Showcase would be suspended from eBay!

So, looks like that was fun the week it lasted. Hope your reading this giftlimited!

Did you have your Auctiva showcase configured to comply with eBay's "two-click" rule? i.e. Are your items listed on other sites initially concealed when your showcase is accessed from your auction?

Its only pointing to eBay auctions! I don't post any other auctions! They said exactly

"it is against eBay terms to use Auctiva Showcase or any other image galler on your auctions. For future reference, do not use Auctiva Showcase to avoid registration suspension."

Luckily they said that they are giving me a week to comply...

I was told from someone from Auctiva that they have an "agreement" with ebay and ebay will NOT be deleting any auctions or suspending any members for having a showcase/gallery in their auctions.

I think your safeharbor rep was mistaken. Happens a lot.

Sounds like a wet behind the ears SH rep.
Try sending an email to [email protected] - they're the experts in that area, not Unsafe harbor.

Did they say why? Maybe you could give us a link to your auctions? Very strange.

eBay probably needs to update their canned robot support system. :P

Including the Auctiva Gallery on the List Page is considered the same as listing all of your auctions on the list page which is keyword spamming.

Let me get this straight, your Auctiva Gallery is on your auction pages, with no need to click on an Auctiva gallery link to get to the gallery listings?

In other words, ALL of your Gallery items show up on each seperate auction listing?

If so, that would indeed be a problem.

Ok. You copied your whole showcase onto your listing?

That doesn't sound like they are banning Auctiva. Just keyword spamming.

They dont like you having all that text about other items listed in your listings cause it trips their search engine into more bidders finding your listings. Seems fair I think.

No, first, you must understand that ebay can't search the page within the auction. The showcase shows a page from another url which would make the showcase unsearchable one eBay's server.

Second, according to Auctiva, that does not violate eBay's policy. I don't know who to believe; auctiva or ebay. Regardless, eBay pays my check so I have no choice but to comply...

Luckily I just have to remove it from my auctions in the future and that is not a problem, what worries me is that I have refered it to lots of friends and I just hope they don't get into trouble. I just wanted to warn everyone in case you have a gallery.

How do I find your auctions! This sounds cool, I want to see it.

I've seen this before-- a seller with eBay personal gallery created a frame in the lower portion of thier auction description. The frame allowed browsers to scroll up and down through their entire gallery listings- pix and all. Pretty slick- and I'm pretty sure it's not all keyword searchable.

Ok.

Why did you have to delete your post of what eBay said? Did eBay ask? I didn't see any auction info in there or I would have went to look.

I think I need to clarify the posting of your own auctions etc for everyone.

I believe your thread containing a link to your auction/s was deleted the other day because it contained identifying info on your bidder (and technically, the CGs require any other party identified be invited etc). We also delete promotional "look at my auctions and bid" posts too (not that I think yours fell into that category!) Sometimes it's a fine line and it's up to the Mdoerator on duty to make the necessary call.

Similarly, I have deleted your last post because you have provided the ID of another Seller.

Do you have an auction (preferably closed but current will be acceptable in this instance) without any bids that you can post for illustrative purposes?

MagazineGuy: It is easy to do with a Java pop-up box. I was considering it myself.

Actually all my old auctions without bids used the old template. The new auctions I have up now either have bids, or could by the time i post a message so I wont post anything current. Maybe I will setup a webpage on my server and have it there for people look at. That will also be a great way to get feedback on my auction template...

Is that ok michelle?

I am liking this idea...what a concept

I use the eBay "Personal Gallery" code...with a link in my auctions.

I run few auctions at a time...usually under ten. How would you code it so all your gallery pics showed up in each auction?

Would it cause the page to be slow loading?
