why doesn't anyone like it? I agree, it sucks for certain reasons, but now other sellers can't try and pitch their stuff off to your bidders. I had many bidders tell me about other sellers who emailed them offering a CDR instead of a real CD that I was selling.

i hope that it will stop the people who harvest email addresses. I hate getting the email every other day from the guy who wants to sell me the "CD that was banned on ebay". I could really care less about this person's CD. If I want his product, I know how to find him. It's sort of like a tele-marketer, I know how to find them if I want them.

My feeling is, if you don't want other sellers Spamming your auctions, do a private auction. That is what I do if I am selling something highly desirable..... now I guess it won't be necessary to do that any more, but the new system s*cks. It took almost four hours for an inquiry to get to me and by then, my auction had ended.

I personally like the new system. Now, when a customer emails me with a question about my items, it tells me EXACTLY which item they are referring to. No more guessing which of my hundreds of items they are talking about!
I also like the fact that I will not get anymore spammers who got my address through ebay.

I have to agree with ExecutiveGirl. I like the new system for that reason. I use to get bidders asking me "what does it cost to ship the item you have on auction" or "do you have any more copies of the item on auction."
Of course they figured I would know what item it was they were talking about without telling me the item!
Also, I have had bidders contact me as well and tell me they were offered items for sale and that really bothered me because I had to pay to list the items and other sellers were emailing my bidders selling their item cheaper. Those people are the ones who ruined it for the rest of us.
All that said, I do understand why many people do not like it. I just don't like the idea that my customers can't email me directly.

In my hotmail account, e-bay is forwarding questions from bidders to my bulk mail.
I looked up on day and noticed an unusual amount of mail and checked. Boy was I glad I did! I usually trash the bulk file without even looking since it contains all spam.
Just a himt to you hotmail folks.

I love it! Along with some of you, I wasted SO much time re-emailing people who emailed me, simply asking "What will you charge to ship to Canada?" or other questions without giving me ANY information as to which auction they're talking about!
Not to mention that *I* have already emailed TWO sellers, asked my question, and bid on their item. Usually I wouldn't even bother. By the time I pulled my email account up, filled in all the info required to get THEIR email address, copied it, wrote their email and sent it... it usually wasn't worth the trouble! LOL
I really like the new system... although I do have hotmail for my ebay stuff, and as someone pointed out... it's sending ALL these Questions to the bulk mail folder. I had 10 auctions end tonight and wondered WHY I hadn't received ANY questions about anything. Just thought I was lucky, until I peeked in the bulk mail folder! Yikes!

I like Ebays new system. I use to get email from people who ask questions but didn't tell me which item they are refering to.
I made auctions private because of other sellers bad mouthing my items or the sellers offering their items at a lower price.

The new email system isn't a problem for me at present. If the email relay should break down or end up like the eBay EOA notices (I've actually got one after the buyer left feedback), then it will be a real pain.
