Howdy, I was just wondering, how many times you list something that doesn't sell before you decide it is a "dawg"? When dogginess is determined, do you take it to the flea market? BM auction? Yard sale? I sell odds and ends.. collectables and such. I have listed some things 3 times, and if it doesn't sell on the 3rd try I warehouse it.. in my garage! (LOL) I need to get rid of some things now and was wondering how you pros handle this?
Thanks, and be nice!

I'm no pro...but after I've relisted something 2 - 3 times I set it aside and wait for a few more items like it (DVD's, movies, etc) and then group them in a "lot" and sell it in a lot. They always sell that way.

I used to feel that if I listed something twice and it didn't sell, well, it goes to the library bookstore for donation.
But I took advantage of eBay's free listing day in December and put up stuff that I'd tried to sell in spring/summer without success. Most of the stuff went and some went for much more money that I could have expected. And I couldn't give it away months before.
Right now, I'm listing items twice on eBay, waiting a few weeks between each time. If they still don't sell, I'm putting them up at BidVille. I've sold 5 items there and currently have 1 bid, so while it's pretty slow compared to eBay, at least it's up and available rather than sitting in my basement. Then, anything that is still sitting there by free listing day (hopefully there will be one) will get pulled off and put up on eBay.

I used to think it was a waste of time to re-list an item but no more. I even said here once something like "Why would I want to list an item again if it didn't sell for even a low price the first time?"
I re-listed an item a while back that brought 21.00 in bids the first time (and the guy never paid). Second time around it brought a staggering $140.00! I left that original non-paying bidder a neg and re-listed. If I had known he was actually helping me out I would have put him on my Christmas card list instead.
