I was under the impression that this new e-mail system of eBay's was supposed to, among other things, help prevent the low-life bottom feeders from SPAMMING my bidders. I don't see how. Auction interference still goes on. Now, instead of sending an e-mail directly to a bidder offering the same product, the bottom feeders just send this same e-mail through the Ebay mail system.
.
.If I'm wrong about this, please explain.

Anyone in the know hear about any future modifications to really stop the bottom feeders?

I'm assuming they have some mechanism to try and track the volume of email relative to ebay sales (or some such indicator) to try and find the people who are selling a large amount of their items "off ebay".

You may be right Captain, but this is not my "point". .
.
I'm talking about an auction of mine, where the reserve has been hit. I'm ready to complete the transaction through Ebay, but the low-life bottom feeders who run no auctions of their own swoop in and e-mail the high bidder with an offer to sell the same item for a fraction less.

I understand your point. I think the idea is that if a bottom-feeder is trying to make a lot of sales via this method, they are going to be continuing to advertise their actions to ebay via the ebay email system. You can bet that if some seller emails 50 random buyers over a period of time in an attempt to steal their business and has zero auctions going, ebay is going to get suspicious, and may then suspend them.
Will it *eliminate* this activity? No, of course not. Will it *reduce* it? probably. How much? <shrug>.
