Does anyone return payments if recieved after the 10 day period, in other words if you get a payment on the 12th day and your auction states 10, do give the check back?

No way, I have enough trouble getting them to even pay, let alone if it's only a few days late.

I have a couple that are at 3 weeks right now, if they pay, I'll gladly accept it, if they don't in the next 10 days, they get a big fat neg for non payment, but I always wait close to 30 days before I do.

I wouldn't waste your time. Just cash the check and ship the item. Then maybe comment in FB about slow payment but still give a positive. Once you reach 20+ days you then have a problem and you can deal with it. I once sent a payment back because I had already filed for listing fees and FVF, because they didn't respond to my email for 19 days ( I filed on day 11). They sent me an email on day 19 saying that they by accident put thier address as the TO: address. If that had been true they would have gotten it back in their mail the next day, possibly the post office would not even take it out of their mail box, as they often do on items without stamps.

I never turn away money! I only relist items after I have filed for my final credit ~ I give it 30 days ~ I send reminders after about 2 weeks ~ wait another week ~ file with ebay ~ wait 10 days ~ file for final ~ then I relist.

Well I would too but I was selling some phonecards that were to expire in 30 days and once they expire they are worth nothing. So when they didn't respond I knew that I had to salvage it. I was stated in the ad payment must arrive in 10 day or I will relist. If I was selling tickets to the World Series, Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, etc. and they outbid all kinds of people in the last hour and then ignore me for 10 days. I could use the item personally, but I bought some extra ones to sell. Three day auctions rule!

I wouldn't return a payment that was only 2 days late (I don't return payments that are 10 or 15 days late), but I could see a reason if it was dated material like tickets, or these phonecards.
