Since my previous post was quickly deleted, I will start over in a hopefully nonpromotional way.
I did succeed in getting an ebay store up this morning. I am not promoting this store. It doesn't even have any items for sale in it at the moment.
All I am saying is that it is possible to get a store up right now. I followed a link in another thread on ebay stores (the thread was on auction watch). I then clicked on seller, manage store and it allowed me to set up a store in advance of the June 18 opening.
I only mentioned my feedback and payment options in the previously deleted thread to illustrate that you can accept payment options other than Billpoint (this has been discussed in other ebay store threads on auction watch.) Also, I was wondering if having a higher feedback rating opened the store building page. Probably not, though you do have to have 20, I think.
I am not promoting this store, just the information that you can possibly get a store up right now.

Thanks Donny, I found your ebay store by clicking the link on your website. I've howled about ebay's stupid policy moves before, but I actually think this one is a good move. If they keep the store items out of the search for auctions, I don't think it will have a big impact on anyone's auctions. It only remains to be seen if the stores will be effective at all, but I'm going to put up a few items to see.

Donny, maybe it's just my computer, but when I clicked on your on-site nonfiction books link, my hard drive wouldn't stop grinding, downloading megabytes of data. You list seem to be 4 miles long. I finally had to turn off my computer with the switch, nothing else worked!!
Maybe it's just my computer, but it won't go there again.
