boomspeed is down because their servers are located in Houston. They have NOT been hacked.

It was back up and okay last night and this morning (earlier) - has it been down AGAIN? If it was hacked again, then you gotta wonder about their security . . . .

Earlier today all I got when I accessed their site was a picture of a box of golf clubs.

Sellers have reported that their pictures were "exchanged": one image was replaced with a "sexy webmistress award".

Something is going on ... however, right now, their site comes up fine.

umm, maybe you didn't see the post above yours, kudzurose, but boomspeed is located in Houston, TX, which is currently underwater. There were many people killed, and business there came to a standstill.

Boomspeed was back up yesturday, but something weird is going on now, when you go to boomspeed all I see is a model of a chevy instead of a place to sign in, Some of my pics are not mine, one was of a blimp? I have no idea if this is because of the unfortunate floods there or something else, If anyone knows what's going on please let me know. Thank You

revvassago - ummm, yes, ummmm I did read it. I know perfectly well where Boomspeed is, as I am registered there. I also know that it was okay last night and this morning, but right now several of my auctions have the images switched; one book I have listed on which the bidding has been brisk, and it ends tomorrow night, now has a teapot shown instead of the book. Another has a pair of shoes instead of a picture of an orchid.

The boomspeed office was never flooded - they just lost internet service. I don't think what I'm seeing on my auctions now is due to high water!

After the recent talk around the boards about boomspeed I decided to register and give it a try today.
Guess I picked a bad day to get an initial impression of them.
I too get someones photos no matter what area I try to go to there.
Hmmmmmmm.

Ok, got curious and went to the site.

I got a pic of a necklace with a bluebird on it.

It appears to be hacked, yes. This would not occur from a server being underwater. Someone had to physically alter the files.

Those unfortunate enough to have pictures on Boomspeed are not having a good day! Pictures in auctions are being replaced (rotated) with all sorts of images: naked plastic baby dolls, barbie dolls, plates of food, dishes, etc.

Another reason to have a webspace that you can control and to FTP your own pictures....

Engelskdansk, I think you are right about it being down for the count.
Still hacked and I haven't heard a peep from them about what they are doing about it.
