I now have my Sony Mavica 73 and absolutely am thrilled with it--the quality of the pictures, the ease of use.

In the past, we've scanned books to sell--the covers, and anything in the inside that we wanted to show. It was fairly easy, but then handling the disk etc. etc. was bulky.

Now that I have my Sony Mavica (yay!), I'd like to photograph everything with it.

Do you have any hints--do you prop up the book? How do you manage to photograph interior pages? Etc. Thanks in advance. Adele

For flat stuff, like books, labels and other small items, I find the scanner to be the best for quality by far.

Thanks, all.

Mrspock, this is the second time in two days that you've been of help to me. Very kind.

So. . . is the "tabletop easel" just an artist's easel but smaller--something that would hold a small picture? (i know this is sounding dumb.) Does it hold the pages flat enough so they don't curve for pictures? And is there one best place to go to buy one?

Again, thanks! ~Adele

the easel I use is folding aluminum one I have had for years picked it up somewhere or other used.

It has a 2 inch wide tray at the bottom end and it will hold most books open can't get them totlly flat without breaking the spine but it does a plasable job
Check arts and crafts stores or artist supply houses

glad to be able to help
