We were cleaning out my father-in-law's basement today, and stumbled upon a box of old girlie magazines. Genesis, beaver, Playboy, Penthouse& a few Hustlers, and some others that I can't remember right now. SOme of them appear to be pretty hardcore. They are from the early to mid '70's, and most have the top right corner ripped from the cover, which looks like where the date was. (arrgghh!!!!) Other than that they are in excellent condition. Some of them have ads in them for cigarettes and liquor. Some of them have no ads at all. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how best to sell them.

Cindy, sometimes you can find the printing date on the front inside cover down at the bottom. I haven't sold those kind, but got some old Life Mags and did REALLY well with them! Try to see if there are any famous people on the cover, or in the feature article, that will help fetch better prices too. If so, concentrate on that particular feature of the mag. But, I also listed almost every article, and told a little about each when I had the Life one's up.....Good Luck!!

First do what yumacoot said, take the one's with a celebrity and sell them individually no matter what condition. Use your own sense on which celebrities have fans. If it's a relatively unpopular celebrity, group it in with the Lot.
Then break the rest down by publisher, assuming there's enough of each to make a Lot. Some buyers would pay just for the Hustlers and discount the miscelleneous publishers, so if you break it down by Lots, you could garner more money for the less popular Lots rather than giving them for free in one big Lot.

I want to sell some of my husbands old 1970's Playboys but he won't let me. My teenager found them and now they have a new life.
