Where do you puchase shipping supplies, especially small boxes, for a reasonable price? I am aware of Priority Mail supplies, but sometimes I mail items Media Mail. Any suggestions?

I used to buy all my packing supplies off the internet, but recently found a packaging warehouse about 2 hours from where I live. Stuff is half the price it is on the internet and no shipping to pay. I don't have to factor in the cost of going to get it, my husband has a company vehicle we can take to pick the things up. The best thing about it is the 6 foot tall sacks of packing peanuts for $14, you can have them shipped to you, but they go oversize and is very expensive. If you are looking for bubblemailers you can get those cheaper on ebay than anywhere. Try user id parrothead88 on ebay, you won't find anyone nicer.

I bought a 14 cubic ft lot of packing peanuts from a seller on eBay For $24.95 including shipping. Turns out the guy is a reseller and forgot to take the Uline label off the packets.

There are several sellers on Ebay (unable to post IDs here for you) but do a search on "bubble mailers" or "boxes" and you'll be sure to find them.

Viking has free shipping on orders over $25. I have been buying poly mailers from them for a few months now and no complaints. (Except for a recent price increase. )

Thank you for all the great advice!! I went to Staples this morning and was shocked at the prices they charge (i.e.-12 Bubble Mailers for $6). The sites/contacts you all suggested are much more reasonable.

Thanks a bunch!!!

I'm a little confused. Is there something that uline is particularly cheap on? I went to their site and looked at things they carry which I commonly use which are Corrugated Mailers, 4 x 3 1/3 labels, paper CD sleeves, and 2-CD jewel cases.

The prices were absolutely horrible. The mailers were twice what I pay and I get shipping included. I don't know how uline handles shipping. The labels are 5 times what I pay. The CD sleeves are 3 times what I pay and the jewel cases are 4 times what I pay.

I think that covers an awful lot of categories and I can't seem to see anything that is reasonable. I have regular sellers on ebay I use for everything but the corrugated mailers. I had bought them from buy.com until they discontinued carrying office supplies and then found another source which was even cheaper than them.

I use local retail furniture warehouses to get all the packing supplies I need. For twelve years I have shipped an average of thirty packages a week and have never purchased packing material or boxes.
Just go to the back door (shipping and receiving)and ask the guys there if you can have some bubble wrap and boxes. Works great for me. About once or twice a month as I go through town I fill my pickup.
Good Luck, jim

I recently learned of a peanut supplier close to me that delivers for a fee of $5.00. A bag of 14.4 cubic ft. of peanuts is only $10.49. I was paying that for 4 cubic ft. They also sell bubble wrap but I don't know yet what the prices are.

avaloncourt -- I get my boxes from ULine. They've got the best deal on cube boxes that I've found. The service is outstanding (I usually receive my orders within two business days, even when they're shipped UPS ground). Their bubble mailers and bubble wrap are on the expensive side, though.

I get my bubble mailers and bubble wrap from either bubblefast.com or off eBay.

I used to get bubble mailers from bubblefast but wanted something that afforded a bit more protection so I went to corrugated mailers. I'll look into uline's boxes. Thank you.

I use a company called Cornell Paper for all my bubble wrap and peanuts. Last time I ordered, my total was $80 - which included 4 huge rolls of the large bubble wrap, perforated every 12 inches & 4 huge rolls of the smaller bubble wrap, also perforated. That included shipping from New York to Florida. This was the most economical company I have ever seen for bubble wrap. Their toll free number is 888-251-1551. Ask for one of their catalogs to see the bargains.

kliggin, I agree! Staples is really expensive for bubble envelopes. I have been buying them there because I don't know where else to get them...

Are there any other Canadian sellers that have a better place within Canada to buy bubble mailers? I don't think it would end up being cost effective to buy from places like bubblefast.com and have them ship here because the boxes would be large but light and would cost too much to ship here...

Are there any box manufacturers within a reasonable distance from your home? That's the cheapest source for shipping supplies I've found.

I agree w/vargas. I have several box manufacturers in my area. I buy their "overruns" & boxes which were ordered but never picked up at huge savings. All size & shape boxes, brand new. They let me wander their "clearance" area all the time & make me pretty good deals if I take quantity on top of the already low prices.

They also give me their discards of box material which I can use as separators & for protective wrapping.

Monster size sacks of peanuts (2 sacks completely filled the back of a Suburban) at $18 each.

Huge rolls of bubble wrap (I hang it from the rafters in my basement shipping area. Large quantities of bubble wrap can also be picked up for free if you have a Tuesday Morning in your area. They always have tons in the dumpster & will fill a box for you if you ask.

I buy bubble envelopes from them in their 500 count boxes, at substantial savings. What costs 50 cents at Office Max is 13 cents from them.

I also buy industrial quality shipping tape in large quantities. Bought a dual tape dispenser from them, fastened it on my shipping table & it holds both the shipping tape & priority tape..makes packing a breeze.

Look in the yellow pages under box manufacturers, shipping supplies, mailing materials & call around.
