Can anyone tell me please the difference between the insertion fee and the listing fee?
I'm about to put something up for auction at $24.95 no reserve. The only additional feature I'm paying for is a 10-day auction for .10.
But the ebay preview in AW shows a .55 insertion fee AND a .65 listing fee for this item. I know what the insertion fee is but what is the listing fee and why does it cost .65? I looked and looked at the preview page and it definitely appears to be two separate charges.

The insertion fee (listing fee) is dependent on the starting price of the auction. The $.30 insertion fee is only for auction with a starting price or reserve price below $10. It goes up to $0.55 for items starting above $10.00 and goes up again for items starting above $25.00 (I think). Maybe someone else can post the link to the page on eBay where the fees are described...

I noticed the same thing with my auctions. Here's the good news: when the auction is over, you are only charged the fee one time. I know, because I carefully checked my bill!
Just another example of eBay fixing something that wasn't broken.
I have no idea why the two amounts are different, though.
You might want to try and email someone at eBay for an answer, but good luck with that idea!

Thanks for the reply! It's good to know I won't be charged. I'll check my bill, too.
I suspect the "listing fee" may represent the total listing charges (.55 insertion fee + .10 10-day auction fee). However, since it's not written "Total Listing Fees," it just looks like one more fee on the list of other fees.
I would contact ebay (yeah, like THAT would ever happen!) but I believe it's an AW issue. It's in the list of ebay fees that shows up on the AW screen when I'm doing a preview.
Actually, I was hoping someone from AW might answer this question...but it doesn't appear that happens anymore, either. Oh for the good 'ol days.

I recently bookmarked this as I went through the same thing and I thought I'd never find the fees info - my Ebay complaint. I think the listing fee equals insertion fee plus all the little extras fees (gallery, reserve, 10-day, etc.). Don't forget to double these if you're using two catagories.
A $24.95 opener costs .55 and the 10-day fee is .10 = .65.

I think I understand what your saying now, sorry about the confusion. It would seem that the insertion fee is the fee associated with the starting price of the auction and the listing fee is the total cost of listing the item (including any additional charges). It should probably say something like "total listing fee" instead of just "listing fee". If your not sure how much you've been charged, just check your account info at eBay, it should show any charges incurred for listing items...
