I can't revise an auction because I have IE 5.5 and I meant to have a BIN price. Short of installing Netscape, is there a way to revise my auction using AuctionWatch?

Thanks,
Christine

Hi. I am also unable to revise! I have been back and forth with ebay! I am using IE and AOL. With IE, I get the error message. With AOL, I either can't get a page to load; I get an error message; or "Your Buy It Now price needs to be greater or equal to your minimum bid."...even when I don't have anything in the BIN box!!!!!! It's hopeless. I get the feeling they are blaming AW because of all the HTML.

I went round three times trying to change a title I decided I didn't like - kept getting the input error message and "page won't display" message. I gave up! But when I went back to my seller's list - there was the new title. Next time, I'll go back and look at the auction to make sure it didn't take before I waste all that time again. Was just a title change though. I'm IE5.5, also.

I've had trouble over the years revising,no matter what version browser I've had! What works for me, even though it's a pain is. Revise your auction, hit submit or continue which ever, and if it don't go through: Hit back, then continue again. And just keep going back and forth till it works. Sometimes I need to do this many times but it always seems to work eventually.

Ebay has never been 100% compatible with Internet Explorer. The revision problems are the most prominent. Netscape users usually have no problems revising. I personally use Opera 5.0 and have never had an error when revising. Also, Opera is far superior to IE5 for uploading images to AW hosting services.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I too have this problem all the time.

But I have found the solution as silly as it may sound.

Revise what you need to, go to the bottom of the screeen and WAIT 2-3 MINUTES before hitting the continue button. Then Wait again on the next page, 2-3 MINUTES before hitting the submit button.

Sounds silly but it has worked for me everytime and has worked for many others here to. Search the post and you will see, it does work!

I've had this problem for almost 6 months. I finally downloaded the Netscape browser (not the whole large program) just for revising. Works like a charm.

Apparently AW is allowing the name of another website (I guess Christopher is no longer lurking).

Anyway, there is a light-weight browser - not Netscape - that will allow you to revise all of your auctions on eBay without any of that waiting time.

The browser is called Opera. You can either find the website yourself, or send me an e-mail at [email protected] and I'll send you some info about getting it.

BTW - I am not affliated in any way with the site that offers this software. I'm just a guy who wants to get his work done, and like to use the tools that make that happen.
