I know it's still a way away, but we work far ahead with listing prep and I wondered what your experience was with auctions ending on the evening of Thanksgiving. Thursday is usually good for us, but that day? Does everyone stuff themselves and then go shop on-line, watch football or go sleep? My items primarily are sold to women by the way.
What's the vote/consensus on ending on 11/22?

Thanksgiving Thursday closings are generally anemic in my experience, though the weekend itself is pretty good.
Gift items, things for singles etc do the best. Family and baby stuff are not so hot. Not sure how toys will do, anyone else tried this traditional holiday?
I will have a ton of new stuff (different than Jan-Oct) listed that weekend since my past sales have shown a shift in focus at that time.
That weekend will also tell us how serious the current downturn in business is going to be for the holidays.

touch of europe, I've had poor results in the past with auctions ending on Thanksgiving. However, people might do less traveling this year which always affects Ebay use. But, it seems everything slows to a standstill on that day.

I was wondering about that - I was thinking people might stick closer to home... guess I'll just stick to ending on Sunday and hope I get lots of looks and hits on Thursday in preparation for Sunday....

If you don't like football and the visiting is over, what else is there to do but bid or take a nap?? Remember, cold weather is settling in too (YAHHOOOO!).
