After a nice eBay break, I am venturing back into the auction biz (yeah, I know, timing is everything & mine stinks!)....I have decided that I want to move a catagory of merchandize from my primary seller account to a secondary seller account (both mine)..My primary account has over 1,000 FBs and the new account has none. For the purpose of identification & givin' the potential customers confidence in my sales record, I would like to link the accounts or at the very least explain that I am now selling "X" under the ID "Xseller" and at the new account explain that I have been selling for years under the ID "myprimaryid"....

WIth all the rules changes, I'm not sure if this is "eBay legal" and I'm not sure if it's such a good idea....

My question to sellers with multiple IDs is "What do you do?"

TIA

You can merge the two userids.

Merge is when you combine several User IDs
(including feedback scores and comments)
into one. After this happens, the old User IDs
are no longer active. For example, you
cannot use the old User IDs to leave
feedback or respond to feedback comments
left for you.

You must meet the following requirements:

Proof that you are the owner of the old and new User ID --
for example, the contact information on your old User ID
needs to match the contact information on the new User ID.
No bidding or listing activity using any of
your old User IDs within the last 60 days,
and no seller fees owed on your old User IDs (zero balance).

You can only merge a maximum of two old User IDs into one,
and your newly combined User ID cannot be merged
again into yet another User ID.

If you are meet the above requirements and
decide you would like to combine the User ID's,
send am email to:

[email protected]

Be sure to include both email addresses and
User IDs' in your email, and be sure to clearly
state which User ID you wish to retain.

Hope that helps & Good Luck!

Thanx for your response Ketzel, but what I am trying to do is to have two separate accounts with advertizing for each within the description area of an auction.

I don't know if it is against eBay rules or not but I know of one seller who is linking on their auction page to their other selling ID.

I have two accounts one for selling and one for buying. I have been thinking about selling some items on the buying account. It has 80 feedbacks.

I would worry about selling on a 0 feedback ID,even if it was explained,as lots of buyers just don't read.

Hello Rancher!

I apologize for misunderstanding your question.

Are you allowed to link to listings under
your other User IDs from the View Item page?

The answer is Yes.

The updated Links policy states that you may
include "Links to your eBay (including your
eBay Store) or Half.com listings". Listings
that are connected to the same person
(or to the same company or business)
are considered "your" listings as they
belong to the same entity. Listings that
belong to various eBay members (like a group)
are not "your" listings and therefore would
not be considered permissible links under eBay policy.

Hope that helps!

I have 5 ebay seller accounts and I don't link them to each other. Why do I have 5?

Well for several reasons, but the main reason is that I sell different things that appeal to different people. Some are in categories that just don't appeal to cross references of people.

I know a lot of people would disagree, but I see nothing wrong with it. One they are all perfect feedback scores. They don't interact, they just sell different things.

anyone ever see www.feedbacksite.com ?it is great...i wonder if it's allowed under these new restrictive rules(which i think are unfair for something like this JMHO an informational site regarding you as an honest seller)
i use this on all my other auction sites right in the description..also on my webpage..it's a lifesaver when you are new 0 feedback..to show you are an honest experienced seller..good luck everyone if anyone knows please post

A former moderator of AW who broke the 5000 listing limit on Ebay has opened a 2nd account. It was featured in a banner ad last week. In his new account ( under 75 fb) he refers potential bidders to the feedback (over 10,000) for his first account. Apparently Ebay has no objections to you letting bidders know about your other accounts. It translates to more money for them if it gets more bids.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I doubt eBay will support use of Feedback Site -
here's an excerpt from the eBay User Agreement:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/png-user.html

"8.1 Export. You acknowledge that your feedback consists of comments left by other users and a composite feedback number compiled by eBay, and that the composite number without the comments does not convey your full user profile. Because feedback ratings are not designed for any purpose other than for facilitating trading between eBay users, you agree that you shall not market or export your eBay feedback rating in any venue other than an eBay operated website.
8.2 Import. We do not provide the technical ability to allow you to import feedback from other websites to eBay because a composite number, without the corresponding feedback does not reflect your true online reputation within our community."
