Is there a technical term for the 35mm films we (speaking for those of us who are 40+ years old) used to watch in grade school? All of the 35mm film searches I come up with on eBay seem to be for current movie trailers. These are the short filmstrips that sometimes had a record (that's a large flat disk played on a record player for you youngsters) that played along with the film. Other times the film had the script on the frame which the student could read or the teacher read the script from a book.

I bought a box of these things at an auction this weekend, around 300 of them in all. Approximately 10% of those are Disney titles for such classics as Ponocchio, Brer Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo, etc.

I just don't know what to call them.

dixiebee,

I believe the correct term for this type of movie is a "film short". There are a good number of them that were produced for 8mm and 16mm projectors....not so many for 35mm. The Disney ones should do fairly well. Good luck with them!
