We've been getting pounded this week with "Where is my order" emails from our customers.

It seems that several of our Priority Mail packages that were sent out October 19-23rd have yet to be delivered.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

YES!! I sent a priority mail package out on October 20 to Utah (I'm in NM) and it just arrived there Saturday. And the "delivery confirmation" STILL shows the package as being in DENVER!!

I have one customer who has emailed me twice, the first time was 3 days after I mailed, and now, 10 days later. I told them that I would refund if not delivered, but I want to wait 30 days as sometimes it takes that long. That doesn't seem unreasonable to me, hopefully it does not seem unreasonable to me

I agree with you on Priority but just try first class which is currently about 80% of mine. Ouch, 20 days in some cases.

You need tho master the art of keeping people calm let me tell ya.

Priority is not the only thing that's slow. Our payments don't seem to be getting through. Our mailbox has been empty for almost a week.

Sent a box on Oct 19 from Indiana and buyer still hasn't received them.
Buyer lives in New Jersey. Our post office said most likely, it has been sent to Ohio for decontamination.
Luckily, the buyer is easy going. We even joked about the reason he hasn't gotten it is because there are no post offices OPEN in New Jersey.
It seems if you are shipping east, delays are occuring, but shipping west, it's going smoother

Hey, I happen to live in New Jersey - and with some extreme exceptions - the post offices are still open. So >please< don't start up anything stupid, even in jest! In fact, despite living in a small town, the PO here has a fantastic record of service.

Needless to say, there appears to be a "black hole" of non-delivered mail around the middle of October when the first cases were being reported.

If the mail had to go through any of the central processing areas in NY or NJ, then it may be a very long time before anything gets delivered.

I heard from some one at the local branch that two bags of mail that had been sent to a firm in the WTC was rerouted to NJ because part of the firm's staff had relocated. Unfortunately the bags went through NYC's Morgan Hill station. Now, no one wants to touch or take the mail.

Current priority mail from the east coast is taking one to two days longer than normal. First class is two to three days longer.

As a seller (and sometime buyer) I'm letting my winners know that when I send out the "you will - eventually - have mail" notices.

Yesterday, I received an automated call from Verizon (my cell phone carrier) telling me to call this 877 number about my account. So I do, I identify them as Verizon, they identify me, so I am sure it is the company. My bill is past due. OK.....I pay all my bills on time every time. I look at my checking account, I show no recent payment to Verizon. I check my bill file.....no bill from Verizon. We discuss this, then they tell me I am not the only one, Verizon it seems, mails out its bills from the New Jersey POst Office that is closed due to Anthrax! Many Verizon customers never got their October bills! Where is mine? Who knows? I hope it doesn't show up in my mailbox! I guess I will be buying plastic gloves.

I still haven't received a check from one of my customers who mailed third week in October. She is ready to mail me another one, and I told her please don't.

I am using UPS for my deliveries and they have been very fast.

I have only had one complaint on a First Class. So far so good on the other stuff, but payments coming in are slow.

It's not just the East Coast. We're still waiting on letters mailed from California. We live in Washington (State, not DC). They are anywhere from 2 days to more than a week late.

What's up with that?
