After six years of doing business with eBah, I got an e-mail this week telling me to remove the link to my web site.
Yeah, Da Rules, Da Rules.
So I did a search on eBay for "my home page,"my web site" etc.
Home page turned up over 40,000 listing; my web site over 30,000.

You know when I see people question this over at the ebay discussion boards, you always see the same response from some people:

RebelGuns, as your research indicates, ebay lets violations of their own rules run wild. They generally only investigate when somebody files a complaint through Safeharbor. Your links may have been reported by a competitor, a buyer/bidder with a chip on his shoulder, or even just a passer-by who happens to be a stickler for the rules. That's why ebay's enforcement seems so selective.
Best thing to do is comply. If whoever reported you is keeping an eye on your auctions, they may report you if they see you're still including the links in new auctions. Next time ebay may respond by yanking all your auctions off the site - a major pain if you have a lot of auctions running at once.
